S. League

S. League, Singapore
25.04. 13:45 Sengkang Punggol vs Korean Super Reds 1.55 3.65 5.20 (bwin)

Apr 17, 2007 Sengkang Punggol 2 - 3 Woodlands FC
Apr 09, 2007 Gombak United 3 - 0 Sengkang Punggol
Apr 06, 2007 Sengkang Punggol 0 - 1 Home United
Apr 01, 2007 Sengkang Punggol 3 - 3 Young Lions
Mar 23, 2007 Albirex Niigata 1 - 3 Sengkang Punggol
Mar 13, 2007 Geylang United 3 - 2 Sengkang Punggol
Mar 10, 2007 Sengkang Punggol 1 - 1 Armed Forces FC

Apr 19, 2007 Korean Super Reds 1 - 4 Liaoning Guangyuan
Apr 15, 2007 Tampines Rovers 5 - 1 Korean Super Reds
Apr 03, 2007 Armed Forces FC 6 - 0 Korean Super Reds
Mar 29, 2007 Korean Super Reds 0 - 2 Balestier Khalsa
Mar 18, 2007 Geylang United 0 - 1 Korean Super Reds
Mar 12, 2007 Korean Super Reds 1 - 3 Gombak United
Mar 04, 2007 Home United 5 - 1 Korean Super Reds

Last season, Sengkang finished at the bottom of the league table with just four victories, five points below the nearest rivals Geylang. This season they aren't much better, so far hosts managed to gather only five points, from seven games. And their only win was away from Hougang Stadium, against Albirex Niigata 3:1. Other points are from draws at home against Armed Forces 1:1 and Young Lions 3:3.
Newcomers, Super Reds are even worse as they have only three points out of seven games, and they are currently at the bottom of the league table. Their only win was on away too, against Geylang United 1:0. Probably their main problem is inexperience, as they have relatively young squad, with an average age of 21. Confirmation for this are all those heavy losses (two or more goals differences) this season.

Sengkang performed good against Woodlands in last match. They were leading the bigger part of the match but unfortunately they conceded three goals till the end of the game. One of those was own goal! For this game they will miss forward Jonathon Angelucci, defenders Nabeel Yusoff and Norazmi Kasmani due to suspensions and defenders Mohamed Mardani and Salleh Firdaus (injuries).
On the other side Super Reds underperformed even against the second worst team in the league, Liaoning Guangyuan 1:4, in last match at Yishun Stadium. They were down 0:3 already at the halftime. They also have missings for this game, forward Kim Jin Won and midfielder U Ja Rang due to suspension.

Super Reds may score once at this game, as they already proved that they are capable to do that on away games, even against tougher opponents. Guests didn't score only on one out of four away games this season. And those Sengkang's missings in defense can only help guests in scoring. Still i think that hosts will win this, as guests are just too inexperienced. Also Super Reds' defense is the worst in the league, with 16 goals conceded on away games so far. And on three out of four games, they conceded five or more goals! So we can probably expect lot of goals too.

Picks:
Sengkang Punggol @1.55
Over 3.5 @2.20

Hope someone will be interested in this, otherwise just delete/ignore it.

Re: S. League

I hope you're right. But the thing is that this year apart from Tampines and SAF, the rest can be very unpredictable versus the bottom teams in terms of scoring.

It is true the Koreans are nothing much to crow about but I have a worrying feeling they will defend for this match. In all the games when they got turned over, they seemed to have excuses, such as red cards (Home, Gombak. Tampines) or were facing top sides whcih were three echelons above (SAFFC, Tampines) or were facing an equally crap side where they thought it was safe to atack (Liaoning - apparently not safe). Against the middle sides they actually kept it lowscoring (Balestier 0-2 ands Geylang. 1-0 away!!!).

That said, they are not called Super Reds for nothing. Check out their card count!!!

Best of luck. Nut I'm skipping this.... And indeed many more games this season than the last until I figure out a pattern ... and until the powers that be give me that VIP pass that they had always given for the previous 6 years .

Re: S. League

I agree that this league is unpredictable, in overall
And about Super Reds...Don't you think that the fact they have so many red card is in fact the reflection of their inexperience? I doubt that they can change that in a short time and certanly hope that Sengkang will use that
As for their style of play for this match, I don't know. Maybe they will defend themselves, but remember Sengkang is missing four defenders (out of six) for this game. Would you play defensive in that kind of situation? Maybe I'm nuts but I'd attack as much as possible

Re: S. League

What's inclement weather in Singapore korgen? It must be loads of rain i suppose. I once knew a woman that went to Singapore and a snake went up her bum as she sat on the toilet. Honest!

Welcome to TDP korgen and thanks for the great read on Singapore football.

Oh and just in case you misunderstood, I wasn't calling your nuts in my post. The letter 'B' is next to the letter "n".

Lightning all throughout. Wasted my trip to stadium. Cute girl wearing a white shirt got drenched through though...

"...a snake went up her bum as she sat on the toilet."
Good for her that she isn't 'he'

It's ok YLW, there wasn't any missunderstanding
And as I'm not from Singapore, I hope you will give us fresh news here for this league, or maybe even insider informations

Re: S. League

S. League, Singapore
26.04. 13:45 Young Lions vs Balestier Khalsa 1.75 3.50 3.90 (bwin)

Apr 22, 2007 Home United 1 - 0 Young Lions
Apr 13, 2007 Young Lions 0 - 1 Albirex Niigata
Apr 05, 2007 Gombak United 2 - 2 Young Lions
Apr 01, 2007 Sengkang Punggol 3 - 3 Young Lions
Mar 22, 2007 Young Lions 1 - 0 Woodlands FC
Mar 17, 2007 Tampines Rovers 1 - 0 Young Lions
Mar 09, 2007 Young Lions 3 - 2 Liaoning Guangyuan

Apr 19, 2007 Balestier Khalsa 2 - 1 Geylang United
Apr 08, 2007 Liaoning Guangyuan 2 - 3 Balestier Khalsa
Apr 02, 2007 Balestier Khalsa 1 - 3 Tampines Rovers
Mar 29, 2007 Korean Super Reds 0 - 2 Balestier Khalsa
Mar 26, 2007 Balestier Khalsa 2 - 4 Armed Forces FC
Mar 15, 2007 Balestier Khalsa 1 - 1 Woodlands FC
Mar 05, 2007 Albirex Niigata 1 - 1 Balestier Khalsa

H2H:
Aug 27, 06 Balestier Khalsa 2 - 2 Young Lions
Jun 7, 06 Balestier Khalsa 0 - 4 Young Lions
Mar 19, 06 Young Lions 2 - 0 Balestier Khalsa
Aug 12, 05 Balestier Khalsa 0 - 2 Young Lions
May 13, 05 Young Lions 3 - 1 Balestier Khalsa
Mar 3, 05 Balestier Khalsa 0 - 1 Young Lions
Jul 23, 04 Young Lions 6 - 0 Balestier Khalsa
May 12, 04 Balestier Khalsa 1 - 2 Young Lions
Mar 4, 04 Young Lions 2 - 2 Balestier Khalsa

Only six players from last season's squad, when Lions finished third, stayed this year. Lot of young players came and this is probably the main reason why they are without a win in last four matches. In last match against Home United on away they conceded in last minutes. That may have bad influence on squad, especially with inexperienced players in it. On the other hand, although always underdog, Balestier improving through the years (10th in 2005 and 7th in 2006). After not so good start of the new season, they won two consecutive games. In last game against Geylang United, Balestier even managed to come from one goal minus at the half. Now after the first home win in new season squad confidence must be high and they will certanly try to build on that. Guests are still without defender S Rajendran and midfielder Ibrahim Dawood, while defender J Kalaiselvan is back in the squad. Midfielder Leandro Rodrigues is still out and midfielder Zulfadli Zainal Abidin is back in squad for Lions.
Although history of previous meetings at Jalan Besar favors hosts here, three Lions wins and one draw, I'll go with current form and confidence rate. I expect Balestier not to lose.

Pick:
Balestier Khalsa on double chance @1.84

1-1 it ended. Reached stadium in time for last 20 minutes. Must say I was not very impressed by sengkang, hanging on when they were a man up.

Korean Super Reds lived up to their name by getting yet another, you guessed it, red card.

Hmmm....All in all I'm very suspicious, having seen the play and the manner in which Koreans equalised. Very skeptical. But I won't elaborate further. Go figure.

  • Was just thinking there, the best type of "fuck off " is the following; You`re playing astro, 5 a side, someone shouts "handball" and the "fuck off" response is fucking class.
