Swedish Allsvenskan 10th May

One match tonight in what is normally not the most of predictable of leagues.

GIF Sundsvall v Halmstad

Prices 2.39 3.29 2.70 with Bet365

Sundsvall are one of the most northernly sides in Swedish top league and this is a factor in them having a decentish home record over the past 4 seasons. Most of the sides in the top league play in the south of the country. The other point of interest regarding Sundsvall is that they play on a plastic pitch which should give them some advantage over the away sides.

This season they have started well at home with a 3-1 win over Elfsborg on the opening day of the season and a 2-2 with Landskrona in their last away game. Disregard their away form, more on that at the end.

Opponents Halmstad came 2nd last year but even with that finishing place won under 50% of their away games. This season they haven't started too well, haven't scored away in their 2 games yet and lost their last home game 1-0 to Kalmar.

Also worth noting is that this is a venue that Halmstad don't like visiting. They have lost on their last 4 visits here - 3-1, 3-2, 2-1 and 1-0. Their last win was in July 2000.

Taking into account that Sundsvall aren't the most reliant at home then the best betting for this evening IMO is laying Halmstad on Betfair.

Current prices are 2.80 back and 2.88 lay. I put up an offer of 2.84 and was matched at that. In a game between 2 evenly matched sides with the home team having the advantage of geography, pitch and H2H's I will happily lay the away side.

Only a small bet though as I said, not the most reliable of leagues for betting on

Lay Halmstad at 2.84, risking 5.5 units to make 3.

And one longer term tip regarding Sundsvall - they are terrible away.

No wins in 2 away this season and a total of 2 away wins (both last season) in the last 2 seasons. Its actually a total of 2 away wins in their last 31 aways. Before that their last away win was September 2002 :yikes: Look to oppose them whenever they are playing away.

Not a good start Mickey.

Sundsvall 1 Halmstads 3

Sundsvall's goal was an OG as well.

Still worth keeping an eye on them away from home I feel, they certainly are poor going on the last couple of seasons.
