Re: Australian Football - 28th May 2005
Komp, unlucky with Morley. But just check out their last away result was a draw at third placed Rockingham who have a record of 1-2-0 10-5 at home im sure the bookies will price them up short for their next home game, and might be worth opposing them if their up against a good away side.Rockingham lost today away to Kingsway who are 10th and had a home record of 0-1-1 4-5
If Morley can get a draw away to Rockingham and lose to bottom side Strling,Rockinghams home record dose'nt look that great.
Forget the above post as The Sporting life website stated Rockingham had lost to Kingsway olympic, but after going to the West australia league web I find they actually won 1-0 :pat

Re: Australian Football - 28th May 2005
I know a fella that plays with Rockingham George. He used to play with Suns and he seems to tell it as it is. He fancied himself for a win but i watch a bit wary. Suns could be worth a look at a big price maybe as it seems that theres been improvement in them and not that Morley have turned awfull. Suppose Suns could be like East Stirling. Not won in a year and then pick up a few draws. I dont know im talking shite.
Here George look how i done on my first week in an Aussie Prediction league
Showing them hows it done!

Re: Australian Football - 28th May 2005
Looks like it aint just Geordie that was suprised by the result yesterday=

Poor result for ECU, played well enough on the day, but could not convert chances again, ECU dominated first half but went in 0-1 down, went 0-2 down fifteen minutes into second half, against run of play, pressed forward and Tommy Jones scored a very nice goal to make it interesting, only for cockburn to score a third as ECU were pushing forward for an equaliser. Good game, ref was good, well done Jeremey, hard luck ECU, well done Cockburn, as one of their guys said afterwards, "it could have been 6 or 7 -3 to ECU"

Definately should have been a win for ECU but as Tom said we just couldn't capitalise on our chances. Might have been a different story if that penalty had been converted. I agree we haven't see the best of ECU so far this season and hope they get back to winning ways soon However, the team doesn't just consist of the players currently suspended! Although the results have gone against us, there have been some good individual performances from those left holding it together.

think i'll be on Joon sooner rather than later.
swan v armdale

Yes a 1-1 draw. The Swans scored in the second minute of injury time to earn a 1-1 draw . Armadale had gone ahead in the 28th minute when Peter Taylor headed home at the back post after a short corner had caught the Swans napping, and had defender Scott Patterson sent off in the 56th minute for two yellow cards, a harsh decision by referee Paul Anderson. The Swans had chances, Miki Vujacic hitting the bar and Paul Lincoln the post and a couple of goal line clearances from the Armadale defence kept the Swans at bay. But in the 92nd minute a cross from Jonathon Mathers was only punched clear by Nick Stone and Damian Scali volleyed home the equaliser. In fact the Swans could have won it, Damien Catalano's shot inches over the bar with the final shot.

Perth v Freo

just simply there was no contest.....the 4-0 score could have been much more, freo just chased the ball around all afternoon.....to be honest it all got a little bit boring......perth 4th goal was the highlite of the game, freo looked sad played sad and have major problems.....you would never ever believe that it was 11 v 11....on the bright side ......sorry there was none!!

Re: Australian Football - 28th May 2005
I've never given Aussie football a second look to be honest but curiosity made me open the thread to find an Alladin's Cave of info. This will take some beating by anybody.
A fantastic job Komp and the others involved. And here I was thinking of a quiet close season
One word - Brilliant

Re: Australian Football - 28th May 2005
Just to let you guys know, we could of went in at half time with 6 or 7 in the bag and actually went in 1-0 down. Second half was a bit more even but we still created 14 chances against 6 and only managed 1 to Cockburns 2 so a loss 3-1. I just can't believe the lack of luck we are havibng and sooner rather than later some one is going to cop a fair rogering.
In the game we only had 2 of the lads suspended playing Steve Porter and Olly Hilton, We missed Jamie Kuzmanovich and Keith Brown.
Also our first team game this week v Western Knights has been postponed due to us having 4 players in the State under 18's squad who travel to Singapore to partake in The Lions Cup, Fremantle are also in the same boat.
The following week our game against Armadale will be played on Sunday 12th subject to confirmation. I will let you know.

Re: Australian Football - 28th May 2005
Cheers Geordie .GIF) I mentioned above about your team being unlucky on the day Geordie and ive got the confidence in your team that all the other team players seem to have in your team too. Everyone just seems to be waiting for you to go on a wee run and im 90% sure even now that i'll be on Joondalup to beat Armadale on the 12th.
Well its been a long one for me Geordie so im hitting the sack. Speak to you later Geordie.
