Re: Sporting Lisbon v C S K A Moscow - 18th May

A game of two halves if every there was one.

CSKA were terrible first half and didn't have a kick. Sporting were fair value for their one goal lead. I was tempted to get my stakes back but looking at the first half I couldn't see CSKA getting back into it.

One thing I did notice was straight away at the start of the 2nd half CSKA were pressing much more than the 1st half. Great breakaways for 2nd and 3rd goals when Sporting, maybe feeling the pressure of being the "home" side, pushed for a 2nd. In truth if CSKA had taken their chances they would have had 5 in the 2nd half as Sporting were just a gaping hole at the back.

Well done Kenny on the AH, bet you wish you were on the straight win now About the only thing I got right was that Sporting would probably concede, looks like I should have been on the overs instead.

I take it you mean unglamarous teams such as CSKA winning? Aye, fair play to them, they deserved it.

A lot of money in Russian footy now, thats Dynamo Moscow just spent £14m on Maniche and Costinha from Porto, two top notch midfielders.

Haha - you know what a mean. Small clubs so to speak etc. And what is all this money in Russian football about?? They seen the Abramovic effect and trying to copy it?

Now you've mentioned them two players going there - that reminds me of last friday, my mate was telling me when out my face and i was telling him where to go and stop speaking rubbish. Thats great signings!

Aye Kiko, I know what you mean, not big name sides like Milan or Barca.

CSKA are sponsered by Abramovichs Sibneft (?) oil company and he has meant to have some money in there. Remember there was all the talk of him having interests in CSKA and Chelsea in the CL earlier this season.

Derlei, ex Porto striker is out there, Vagner Love cost £7m from Brazil and I am sure there is some other big buys. A lot of money about Russia now, some possibly a bit "shady". Look at Shakhtar in the Ukraine as well, who played Celtic, £14m or so on the midfield boy, Mozart (?).

Re: Sporting Lisbon v C S K A Moscow - 18th May

I thought the game was a fantastic feast of some great football but also a dire spectacle with some woeful touches and misses. Perfect for the neutral.

One thing I thought was good was that the CSKA management team obviously kicked a$$ at half time because the CSKA team where out very very sharp and as mentioned above where really up for it.

Enjoyed the game (especially with a winning bet) but as i said earlier without a bet on this would have been great to watch.
