J.LEAGUE/ PREVIEW ROUND 2: Fasten your seat belts for battle of Yokohama

We didn't have to wait long for the first mouthwatering Battle of Yokohama. Having had our appetites whet in Round 1, it's time to dive headlong into the main course: Newly promoted Yokohama FC versus three-time league champion the Yokohama F Marinos on Saturday.
By now almost everyone is familiar with the tale of the two teams. How the Yokohama Marinos swallowed up the Yokohama Flugels in 1999 to become the Yokohama F Marinos, how Flugels fans protested by starting their own team, Yokohama FC, and how that team battled its way up from the JFL to the top flight quicker than many thought possible.

Pro wrestling fans call such an encounter a grudge match. It may very well be as explosive as WrestleMania.
*** Ventforet Kofu (h) vs. Nagoya Grampus Eight (a)

Grampus is coming off a solid 2-0 win over JEF United, while Ventforet will be looking to rebound from a 1-0 defeat to the F Marinos. The teams split their games in 2006, with the home side victorious each time. Both teams are well-organized and highly motivated, and a low-scoring draw wouldn't be a surprise.
Kofu's record against Nagoya: 1-0-1.

Sanfrecce Hiroshima vs. Kashiwa Reysol

The Sun Kings surprised everyone last weekend with a 4-0 slaughtering of Jubilo Iwata, a team many experts tipped to be a title contender this season. It was a masterful performance from the Chiba club, one that makes it extremely difficult to predict the outcome of this week's match with Sanfrecce, who beat F.C. Tokyo 4-2 in their opener. Two weeks ago all bets would have been on Hiroshima. Now it's anybody's guess.
Hiroshima's record against Kashiwa: 8-3-11.

Jubilo Iwata vs. Oita Trinita

Iwata took it on the chin in Round 1 and may still be hurting from their surprising defeat to Reysol. Whether Iwata comes back fighting or flops again will speak volumes about their championship potential this year.
Iwata's record against Oita: 6-1-1.

Omiya Ardija vs. F.C. Tokyo

Ardija boss Robert Verbeek said he wanted to see how his team did against Gamba on opening weekend before giving an appraisal of his players. After a 1-0 loss to the 2005 league champion, it's safe to say that Verbeek is quite pleased with his squad. Look for Omiya to open it up against the Gasmen this weekend in an attempt to exploit the holes in Tokyo's D. Expect plenty of goals in a wide-open affair.
Omiya's record against Tokyo: 2-1-5.

JEF United Chiba vs. Shimizu S-Pulse

JEF played reasonably well in their loss to Nagoya in Round 1 and could have come away with a share of the spoils had lady luck been kinder to them. It may only be the second game for Amar Osim's men, but this is one they need to win to regain confidence in themselves. A second-straight loss could signal the beginning of a long downward spiral at Chiba.
Chiba's record against Shimizu: 13-2-19.

Yokohama FC vs. Yokohama F Marinos

The "new" Yokohama team held their own against 2006 champ Urawa in their opener and could have stolen a point had it not been for a late goal by Yuichiro Nagai. FC will be even more motivated this time around, and the F Marinos will soon discover they are in a knock-down-drag-out fight that won't end until the final whistle. Destiny is with the home team.
This is the first match between the teams.

Kashima Antlers vs. Gamba Osaka

The Antlers hold the historical edge over Gamba, but after a 1-0 loss to Kawasaki last weekend, it appears the Antlers may need a little more seasoning under new Brazilian coach Oswaldo Oliveira before they really start to cook.
Kashima's record against Gamba: 20-4-10.

Albirex Niigata vs. Urawa Reds

Despite two straight wins, the Reds still aren't looking so hot. They got creamed in the Xerox Super Cup, were almost held to a draw by Yokohama FC at home on opening day, then struggled with their finishing in a 3-0 win over tiny Persik Kediri in the AFC Champions League on Wednesday. They may enjoy more of the possession again this Sunday against Albirex, but if they can't bury their chances, another frustrating 90 minutes is in store for the Urawa faithful. One good piece of news for Urawa is that defender Marcus Tulio Tanaka may return to the lineup after being sidelined with the flu.
Niigata's record against Urawa: 3-0-7.

Vissel Kobe vs. Kawasaki Frontale

Kawasaki has never lost to Vissel and will be looking to continue the streak with a win away this weekend. Frontale is in good form, having beaten Kashima in Round 1 and won their first AFC Champions League game on Wednesday. Brazilian midfielder Magnum is the man of the moment for Kawasaki, having scored three goals in those games, including both the winners.

Vissel's record against Frontale:0-0-4.

Re: Japan J-League 10-11th March

I usually avoid betting on over/under this early in new season.Iwata scored a lot of goals at home last season,44.Both games in previous season were overs.

beware with hiroshima, they could win with a single goal or draw in this match.
for iwata maybe better you wait till the odds drops, cause iwata is a unstable team. from your name i think you live in asia. there are a lot of bookies offer live bet in this match. use it and steal the money from them.

Re: Japan J-League 10-11th March

can find in local newspaper. search it through google. usualy i use the name of the match to find it.

if you're interested in jleague match now, you can think to take omiya OVER for HT and FT bet. it's live now. Better match rather than iwata, i hope.

BTW can you read chinesse letter? Hongkong league Cup is the best game today to bet. find the info and you'll see money on them.
