Spain 21-22 May
Not got much time, but a few quick ones for today:
Malaga DNB v Barcelona @ 2.375 4pts Messi, Puyol, Piqué, Valdés, Xavi, Iniesta and Villa all rested for Barcelona ahead of the Champions League final. Malaga without their top 2 scorers, Rondon and Baptista, plus a couple of others missing too, but against a severely weakened Barcelona side they're still worth a shot here at this kind of price. Sebastian Fernandez first/last/anytime scorer for Malaga v Barcelona @ 12/12/4.33, 1pt on each As mentioned above, no Baptista or Rondon for Malaga, which leaves Fernandez as their highest scorer available to play (6 goals in 20 starts). He's just been announced as the player of the year by a Malaga website, has the chance to end the season on a high here against a weakened Barcelona defence. Real Sociedad v Getafe 0-0 HT correct score @ 3.25 2pts A draw would save Real Sociedad and could be enough to save Getafe, depending on the results of Zaragoza and Deportivo. Therefore I'd expect to see a very cagey first half, not too many risks taken, and both teams to reassess their options at HT depending on how the other games are going. And from Segunda: Girona tb Barcelona B @ 2.625 4pts Girona missing a few players after ending last week's match with 7 men , but Barcelona B also decimated by several key players being called up to the first team due to the players being rested ahead of the Champions league final. Girona 6pts off the last play-off place (Valladolid) with 3 to play, but superior H2H against Valladolid which means they'd finish higher in the event of a tie on points. A win is their only real option here if they want to stay in with a chance of the play-offs, while there's no real motivation for Barcelona B, who aren't eligible for promotion, and have suffered a dip in form lately with just 1 win in their last 6. Las Palmas -.75 v Numancia @ 2.025 3pts Las Palmas still needing one more win to secure safety, while Numancia now have nothing to play for. Las Palmas strong at home, 5 wins in their last 6, Numancia have lost 8 of their last 10 aways, 5 of them by 2 or more goals. Celta Vigo v Elche DNB @ 2.35 3pts Celta have gone from strong contenders for the title to struggling to clinch a playoff place in the last couple of months after a major choke. They've won 1 of their last 13, and have taken just 2pts from their last 7 homes. Elche are unfortunately missing a few first teamers, but I still think they're worth backing here. They've won away to both of the top 2 (Betis and Rayo), plus Alcorcon who've got the 3rd best home record in the division. Strictly speaking Elche can still get automatic promotion, although it means they'd have to win their last 3 and Rayo lose their last 3. With Rayo not playing until tomorrow, though, it gives Elche the chance here to put Rayo under that little bit more pressure. Last edited by rcgills : 21-05-2011 at 15:22. |
