North America - Superliga

24/06 - 01:00 Chicago Fire v Chivas USA 2.05 3.50 4.20
24/06 - 03:00 San Luis v Tigres UANL 2.40 3.36 3.78

I've taken San Luis to beat Tigres tonight.

San Luis lost their opening game to the Chicago Fire, who are currently undefeated in the MLS and taking this competition very seriously having used a virtually first choice line-up. It was a pretty even match, with both teams having their chances to score. San Luis have their full squad in the US for this match and are looking for a victory here to keep their hopes of qualifying for the next stage alive. This is the second match for San Luis under new manager Juan Antonio Luna, who came in after their poor league showing this year, finishing 15th of 18 teams in the Clausura. This despite it being mainly the same players who won the 2008 Apertura.

Tigres are playing this competition with a severely weakened team, full of reserve and youth players. They beat Chivas in their first game, but Chivas are currently in poor form in the league, having lost their last three games, are experiencing a bit of an injury crisis. Despite having taken the lead, Tigres only managed the victory after Chivas were reduced to 10 men in the second half.

I'm willing to take a chance on a full and motivated San Luis squad, in only the second game of manager Juan Antonio Luna's tenure, beating a young Tigres team at the odds available.

San Luis to beat Tigres @ 2.40 (Ladbrokes) - 3 points

Buggering bollocks. I read your post at the time Nap and you had me convinced but I wandered off like an alzheimer's patient and forgot. Great stuff as usual. Can I playfully rub your head?

Re: North America - Superliga

I've found something I like again tonight, with similar circumstances to last nights bet.

Santos Laguna v Atlas

Santos come into this tournament with a strong squad, almost all first team, after a disappointing performace in this competition last season. They played well against the Revs in their first game, but can probably have no qualms about the result. However, their performance shouldn't be dismissed, especially against one of MLS's better teams.

Atlas have brought a squad of younger players to this tournament as their head coach sees it as a distraction from preperations for their next league campaign after this campaign was such a disaster. They held Kansas to a goalless draw in their first game, but Kansas held most of the posession and had the better chances, despite an intensely uncomfortable heat that probably helped Atlas get their point.

The first team of Santos, who seem to be taking this competition very seriously, should be more than good enough to see off Atlas and their squad of youngsters.

Re: North America - Superliga

Good luck guys!

I am quite interested in Kansas to beat New England as well so I might have a small interest in that.

New England have got 7 first team players injured or suspended for this match, with Steve Nichol having only 16 players left to pick from, including 2 goalkeepers. The main miss will be Shalrie Joseph, though Chris Albright and Taylor Twellman will also be sorely missed.

Small interest on Kansas @ 3.40 (BetClick) - 1 point

Re: North America - Superliga

Broms almost had me word for word there apart from the first two lines but I had written a similar post containing the word 'jinx' and didn't hit 'submit' it as I really thought it might be a bit 'jinxy'. It's ok now though as someone has got in ahead of me. So... good luck.
