The games in the premier division look very tough this weekend on first inspection however i would be considering a Shelbourne/Dundalk double at this stage.

I think i would be best off picking the teams i think have the best chance of winning therefore making profit and not losing money!

If you have any sort of clue about this football in the premier division this week how could you be surprised if any of them games went either way!

For what its worth Bray are in good form at the minute and could take Sligo, nice price as well.

Re: 16-18 May: Ireland

Galway +0.25 @ 2.0 (3u)
you have to judge yourself how jeff kenna has imposed himself onto this galway team, and personally i think he has done well, of the 5 games he's been in charge, although he's let in 5, 3 of those in his first game which cannot be blamed on kenna, and a 2 successive clean sheets to derry and sligo in the cup. but galway are really not as poor as their league position suggests, against finn harps, their lapse in concentration after going up 1-0 and not closing down parkhouse's belter was their undoing when they were by far the better team.
ucd are equally poor infront of goal and missing a couple of players at back most importantly their captain.
with 2 fairly equal teams, the money has to be the team who will be out to play the better football tonite and at least earn a draw.

St Pats +0.5 @ 2.00 (1.5u)
(1.5u_st pats 1x2 @ 3.0 & 1.5u_st pats draw @ 3.1)
i think these odds are well out of place, in which league in europe do argueably the 2 top teams in the league offer a +0.5hcp at even money?
it is no different to our previous drogheda +0.25 @ 2.05 away to cork bet.
tbh, i'd consider both 1st teams fairly equal, but drogs most definitely have the better squad and with fahey up against his old side, he'll be well up for this one.
pats have the firepower to douse any team in the country, and drogs are not getting the rub of the green of late and i can imagine they will be out for a result tonite, but st pats are ever so dangerous on the counter.

*only down side to the bet is u lose 3u if drogs win.

Re: 16-18 May: Ireland

Poorish week last week but good old Bohs saved the day with a win down in Cobh.

Eircom League time again. Thankfully Bohs beat Cobh last weekend to get me back in profit followinga dismal Friday evening. Hopefully it'll be a good evening tonight.

UCD V Galway Under 2.5 goals @1/2: Both teams have been good defensively of late and Galway have scored just 1 goal away from home all season. Looks like unders.

Derry(-1) V Cobh @13/10: Last time Cobh played in the North West they lost 3-1 to Sligo. I reckon we could see a similar result this evening.

Monaghan V Dundalk @8/11: Dundalk love playing Monaghan. We've beaten them 4 out of the last 5 times including two 3-0's. They are in bad form and have conceded 11 goals in their last 3 games. Ideal game for Dundalk to get back on track following last weeks 3-1 loss to Shels.

Wexford V Limerick(DNB) @10/11: Wexford have played Limerick 7 times in the past year and never won. They've lost 4 including a recent 5-0 away defeat and a 1-0 home defeat in the cup last season.

Verdict:
UCD V Galway Unders @!/2
Derry City(-1) @13/10
Dundalk @8/11
Limerick(DNB) @10/11

Good luck to all!

Re: 16-18 May: Ireland

Chief, I read that Shamrock have plenty of missings for today's match. Are they so important that it is worth trying Finn Harps (0) at 2?

The Hoops’ injury list, on the other hand, remains extensive, with Chris Mulhall (cartilage), Darren Stapleton (thigh), John Martin (hip), Robbie Creevy (ankle) and Pat Flynn (ankle) all still sidelined. Versatile midfielder Danny O’Connor and striker Tadhg Purcell both face late fitness tests.

Thanks

Purcell is probably the most important player out of that lot and it looks like he will play. Not a game I would be interested in as both teams are in very poor form.

Although if I had to pick I'd probably go with Harps. Parkhouse and Gethins are a lethal double act and now that both are finally fit Harps form may well improve. Also its a long journey from Dublin to Donegal and it should be a packed house which will help the home team.

Cinny, don't get me wrong as i am not a piss taking kinda bloke nor patronising, but i only said what i said because with these smaller or more amateur leagues i'd assume bookies price games more wrong than right, and being from newry maybe you have a better edge than most of us.

On a gambling point of view, betting on odds as low as 1.50 - 1.60 on a frequent basis (not necessarily to say you do) would mean in simple terms, you have to be winning bets at a rate of 2 to 1 just to break even and combo betting, i have yet to see a consistent combo punter that ends a season in profit.

Anyways, just wondering mate, thats all, i wish you all the best for the rest of the season.

take care
