Re: Spain 8-9 December

4th placed Aguilas @3.00 could be interesting, they have beaten the top side and the 4th placed team away, but were beaten by 6th placed Linares.
Cartegna home is not a fortress 4-0-3 they have lost to 1st and 4th placed sides, but also to lowly Marbella. The thing with Cartegna they have gone three games without scoring (2 have been away) and Augillas sit on top of the form table with a record of 4-1-1.

Looks good for the h'cap, maybe a single, team news required.

Re: Spain 8-9 December

Not sure you'll find handicaps for the Segunda B, Basher, think the closest you might get could be a lay of the home win. Could be wrong though.

Not had a chance to look into the games yet, not sure I will have time either as it's a Bank Holiday weekend over here. If I get a chance I'll see if I can find any team news for you. Often a bit awkward at that level though - some teams have great websites with loads of info, but many others have absolutely sod all.

If I've not written anything in quite a while on the Segunda, Junior, it's because I've not seen a bet I like. Lately my Spanish bets have been mainly in the Primera and Segunda B, but don't worry, if I see something I like in the Segunda, I will mention it in here.

What do you think about Gimnastic? Malaga missing midfielders Hidalgo and Apono... I had Gimnastic much higher than Malaga in my own early season estimations...got 2.7 by local bookie so I've taken it.

Sorry for the spam but I must be missing something here. If your team is winning at half time then you can't lose? I suppose they've reduced their prices accordingly

Nope, Just looked at the Saturday games on oddschecker and their prices are still at the top end of the range. For anyone who's interested in a bet Saturday best prices listed are...

Valencia 8/5 Ladbrokes and Stan James

Bilbao 7/2 Betdirect
Real Madrid 20/21 Stan James

Re: Spain 8-9 December

Diomed, I'd make the prices on that Nastic v Malaga game about right. Nastic have been disappointing this season, and with only 1 win in their last 4 homes, I don't think I'd want to be backing them here. None of the 3 possible outcomes would really surprise me.

ODM, if you're looking for a lay today, you'll have to look elsewhere as I'm a happily married man In betting terms, however, I'd say Ferrol are your team, and I shall be adopting your tactic this time and laying them myself rather than backing Granada 74 (DNB). Ferrol won 4 of their first 6 games, and since then have gone 9 without a win. They've only won 1 at home all season (1-3-3, and the win was against bottom team Las Palmas) and are now down in 17th. Granada 74 (Ciudad de Murcia as they were last season, for those that don't know) after a shaky start have moved themselves up into 8th. 5-1-1 for their last 7 games, with just 2 goals conceded in that time in the game they lost, they've kept a clean sheet in the other 6 games. Currently on a run of 3 straight wins, including away to 2nd placed Numancia and home to 3rd placed Sporting Gijon.

Nothing major in the Granada team news - missing one defender who's played 8 games for them this season, that's about it. Ferrol are without their joint 2nd top scorer Charpenet, although they've got their top scorer back after missing last week's game (a 3-1 defeat in Cadiz) through suspension.

Lay Racing Ferrol v Granada 74 @ 2.62, liability 6pts

Also will be backing Osasuna tonight. Watched most of Valencia's game v Bilbao last week and they really were absolutely dreadful. Went down 0-3 at home, and it was deserved. Easy to say now, I know, but sacking Quique Sanchez Flores is beginning to look like a huge mistake, he was getting results, but not playing attractive football, the fans wanted him out and they got him out. Now Koeman's in, they're still not playing attractive football, but they're not getting results either. Obviously he's got to be given time, and he may well turn things around, but I think there's still some mileage to be had in opposing them while you've still got people automatically thinking of Valencia as one of the big 4, regardless of how they're actually playing.

Osasuna v Valencia @ 2.9 4pts

Re: Spain 8-9 December

nice one with Ferrol rcgills

what about underachieving Zaragossa against overachieving Espanyol...the odds would have been so different at the beginning of the season. I see value on the home win... anyone?

Re: Spain 8-9 December

In 2ªB group 1, I've backed Rayo Vallecano at evens. Rayo are a big club for this division, but they've struggled to get out of it in recent years. Since 1965/66, they've only spent 5 seasons outside the top 2 divisions (including the last 4 seasons), with 11 seasons in the Primera during that time. 3 years ago they finished 3rd and lost out in the play-offs (the top 4 teams in the 4 Segunda B groups get split into 4 groups of 4, where they play a SF and then a final, each over 2 legs), the following year they just missed the play-offs and finished 5th, and then last year they finished 2nd, but lost out 2-1 on aggregate in the play-off final to Eibar. They're not having the best of seasons so far, down in 8th, but they're still just 3 points off the play-offs. They've been beaten twice at home this season, but those defeats were against the top 2 sides.

Their opponents are Fuerteventura, who made a great start to the season with 6 wins from their first 7 games. They've only won 1 of their 8 games since then, however, and that's seen them drop down to 6th, 3 points above Rayo.

I fancy Rayo to win this one today and get themselves back up into the hunt for the play-offs. Not all that often you see them at evens at home in this division.

Rayo v Fuerteventura @ evens 6pts

My other bets so far are on the Numancia - Salamanca game. Numancia might be 2nd, but while they're unbeaten away, they've been struggling at home, 4-0-3, and have lost their last 2 homes without scoring. Salamanca made a slow start, losing 5 of their first 7, but since then they've only lost 1 of their last 8 (at home to Albacete last weekend).

Salamanca have got some key players back after missing the last game, including top scorer Quique Martin. The one problem for them will be that their first choice keeper is out injured. Having said that, they've only kept one clean sheet this season, conceding 20 in 15 games, so maybe a change of keeper will do them good.

Numancia will be without a few first teamers, including Juanra (ever-present in defence), and Bolo and Carmelo up front.

Lay Numancia v Salamanca @ 1.9, liability 4pts

Also going with the unders here. The past 6 meetings between these two sides have produced the grand total of 2 goals . Four 0-0 draws, including the last 3 games, and two 1-0 home wins (one each for Numancia and Salamanca). Numancia's 7 home games this season have seen them score 8 and concede 7.

Numancia v Salamanca under 2.5 goals @ 1.75 5pts
Numancia v Salamanca CS 0-0 @ 9.5 1pt
