Lets have a quick look at these prices. It didnt look good as i broswed down. Western League reverse fixtures were only 3 weeks ago so maybe something in the reports that day.

Moving upwards for a change....Morley have some experience in their team and even though they aint rated by some i do (lots of experienced heads brought in pre-season) Nah i cant take Mandurah to keep winning. If theyre gonna drop points then it could be this week to me. Forrestfield at home are no mugs but you would have to fancy the improving QP to keep their unbeaten run going since getting in a new manager and his players. I'm still not interested though.

Sod it im for the inconsistant Bayswater at home. Away at SWP no (even though i did) loads to read on this one but i remember Bayswater creating chance after chance at SWP and im taking them to carry on where they left it at SWP and also for th manager to give his team a right good talking too for this week. Gosnells i'll back against everyy week at the mo but i aint so sure about the 1/2 on Balcatta. Mibbees Ashfield Dianella i dont like to get involved in. Dianella will have their supporters this week but whilst they still have injuries and suspensions i dont know if i could back them.

the same goes for Bayswater now i think of it. Hopefully Bayswater will have a few back.

In the western Premier i aint to enthralled with anything. armadale to get a point at Cockburn?

Excellent we have vic 6 back on i'll go read up on that. Psaross could or could not be playing this wekeend for Southern Suburbs. Need to read more. I would rather take on Nunwading on their excellent pitch than away. Theyre showing great resilliance but surely at home they'll have to open up more?

Cairnlea away at Geelong Rangers looks interesting poss if Cairlea aint fallen off track too much. Plenty to read on this game this week no doubt so worth watching. I'll still be interested in anyoe v Avondale so i'll look into Lalor.

Waverly Wanderers might have had a few off field probs this week and that could have accouted for their defeat at the weekend (im sure they got beat) another one to read up on.

Langwarrin i belive have made a few signings lately and i feel that Westgate could have probs. def one for me to look at and the same goes for the high flying Frankston Pines at Brunswick

Lets see whats been happening in victoria 6 then...Glenroy being unlucky....south yarra unbeaten in ages but expected to slip up..play the long ball..good at home on their very small pitch...

Elwood not much chop..... but was a scrappy game in bad conditions. Glenmroy scored two in first half and the game was finished off with no team threatening after that. Pretty average game, but a win is a win especially away.

They dont look all bad. Suppose it took them a game to get into the league. Maybe their style of play suits playing away from home. Opens them up a bit. Look to keep it tight at the back.

Looks like glenroys inspirational captain(inj) and his brother(susp) out this week against sth yarra, just to make things a little more interesting

At the game and have to say that glenroy destroyed south yarra on the day! even the linesman (official) said that glenroy should have won by 3-4 goals. But thats football and when you dont take your chances you get bitten in the bum. SIMPLE! Rusty you might have wished the ball wasnt over the line but it was and you know it, but ey i would have done the exact same thing in your position so cant say much. At least there is more sh@t ppl out there like myself !

should be an interesting last game of the year, South yarra wont be in conention but have done well to stay up this year.

Lets see how Hume are playing. shit i havent even looked at the odds. Im guessing slightly odds on here.

Not that great i suppose. they also managed to get a game in on round one before the s yarra game. I think i'd be mad to consider the home poss.

11/8 with William Hill. Is that a fair price to make Yarra's bubble burst? I aint so sure. South Yarra unbeaten in their last 10 I'll forget it.

Mel Uni had a few out especially in defence. Since they got players back theyve went on a wee run. Shame as i was expecting N Sunshine to be in the mix at the end of the season. Relegated last year and straight back up. I'd have wanted them to be playing almost anyone bar Mel Uni by the looks of things.

Here Kegman you'll like this for a read

OK, so we've gone past half way mark of the season 2007 and some conclusions can be made already - common suspects in promotion challenge, same can(not) be said for relegation dogfight.

Having watched all clubs this year, this is how I see their efforts so far, top to bottom):

Keilor (26pts)
Was touted as promotion contender as every year and so far this year they lived up to it.

How they do it: Strong and fit unit that puts 11 men behind ball, with very fast flanks which turn into strikers in no time. Deadly from crosses and long balls.
How to beat them: Although almost impossible at their home ground due to premanent wind and bumpy ground, you need to keep the ball on the ground and get behind their defenders. You try long ball stuff, you lose.

Pascoe Vale (22 pts)
Eternal promotion candidate appears to be faltering at the same stage every year. This year is no exception.

How they do it: Tough defence and tight as fish's arse enables Paco to peel off their 3-pointers courtesy of 1-0 victories. Also deadly from free-kick and corner crosses.
How to beat them: Rule no.1 - do not concede a first goal against Paco. They'll be happy to soak it for 90 minutes. They appear weak towards the end of the game, so if your team is not out of it by 75th minute, chances are that they'll offer you a gift.

Werribee (21pts)
This team is on the up and will challenge for promotion.

How they do it: Very organized in the middle and with return of Marty Collins, they have solved their scoring problems.
How to beat them: Slow defence that tends to struggle against small strikers. And offcourse, you need to stop Marty.

Maribyrnong Greens (20pts)
Going along nicely my team is.

How they do it: Attack, attack and attack. One of the best attacking side in State League with one of the worst defensive records. They are ball-playing side that will make you chase shadows when on song.
How to beat them: Chances are that you need to score more than two goals to win. Consistency and 90 min composure are their worst enemies.


This would conclude my candidates for promotion. Just about everyone else at the moment is in a relegation fight.


Sunbury (16 pts)
Rumours of internal stife and player walkouts have not hit Sunbury too badly.

How they do it: They try their hardest 90 minutes regardless of a result. Very unpredictable side.
How to beat them: Defence is reasonably slow and can go napping.

Williamstown (16 pts)
The most experienced side in the league fails to live up to its preseason expectations.

How they do it: You cannot substitute class and these guys still have it. They are ball playing side and will beat you if you give them too much space.
How to beat them: They cannot last in high-tempo games anymore. Put your bodies behind ball and counter-attack.

Altona City (15 pts)
Despite 3pt deduction, this team does not lose its self-belief easily. A real team unit with lots of camaraderie and no overpaid superstar egos.

How they do it: Led by a top coach, these guys listen and obey by his orders to a tee. Very tough to beat because they make up in effort what they may lack in individual skills. Cvitkovic's departure is a missing link for their promotion rally.
How to beat them: Get close to their backline with short passes and expose their lack of backline pace. Try long balls and they'll have you for breakfast. And yes, stop their flanks, some decent crosses come from there.

Altona East (14 pts)
Have you heard the one about team that copped 8 goals in 12 games and fought a relegation battle? I have.

How they do it: They have redefined Italian-style defence all over, this mob. It's simply a fortress in front of their goal and there is a decent midfield there too. It beats me how they struggle to score goals when they soo beautifully dispatched Greens only two weeks ago.
How to beat them: Score a goal. Don't ask me how.

Thomastown Devils (14 pts):
Most unpredictable side in the competition - terrible one week, winners the next.

How they do it: Rumours have it they are a very rough side, but what I've seen does not prove it. Very fit, that's for sure and that tall dude up front is very dangerous at throw-ins and corners.
How to beat them: They will always struggle if you keep the ball on the ground.

Moreland (13 pts):
Hands up who's written off these blokes for last four seasons!?

How they do it: Through sheer heart and competitiveness. Watch them when season gets to a business end - God help sides that have to play them in last three rounds.
How to beat them: Do not try to outmuscle them. They defend very deep, so you have to find a way to expose their lack of pace in small spaces.

Yarraville Glory (12 pts):
Dark clouds ahead for this club.

How they do it: When Jaffer was around, their midfield had a whole different look. Now it's left to Dinse to score and create. A very tough ask week in week out.
How to beat them: They struggle to take a clean ball out of defence, so put pressure on their backline when in possesion and chances are they'll cough it up. Lack of motivation appears to be a big factor too.

Lalor (4pts)
Last rites are being prepared somewhere as we speak.

How they do it: They don't.
How to beat them: This ship leaks worse than Pasha Bulker. Just turn up with your first XI and you're 90% there already.

These are my humble opinions, people. Now that I've provided you with something substantial to read on this Forum, I would like to read your comments and opinions too.

Athena (but way too short)
Cockburn (improving and have already won at Armadale)
Mandurah (won vs all the best and should beat Morley)

AWAYS
Werribee City (good price but they do like a draw)
Lalor (worth looking into based on RFO this week )
Eastern L (keep winning and Sandy leaking goals)
Galaxy ( this one looks good - Cumberland bottom and only 1 win @ home)

Looks tricky for me too elwico. truth be told i got hit so hard last week that i havent recovered from it and i havent had a penny in my pocket nor online accounts since. I cant foresee me getting anything either as i dont leave the house and who would lend a fella money who openly admits that he doesnt want to see anyone and will only be there for the money? Im gonna have to sit on it till friday and then make a few phone calls and take it from there. I can't see me not getting on but also i don't have the urge to look with the threat of not getting on still hanging over me. I'm just gonna do my usual and read up on the games etc as i sit and then when (if) i get sorted on Friday i will look at stats and odds again and take it from there.
