Re: Spain 16/17 Jun - Last round

Absolutely ridiculous prices there on Madrid and Barcelona. Both of them should win, but could this league yet have one final twist?

Two that I'm certainly interested in at first glance are Osasuna to beat Atletico Madrid, and a lay of Sevilla against Villarreal. Osasuna's season is finished, but that's been the case for a few weeks now, and look at the way they tore Betis apart at the weekend. As for Sevilla, I think they realise they had their big chance last weekend when Madrid and Barcelona both slipped up, and they blew it. Villarreal in superb form, 7 wins in a row, and not yet guaranteed their UEFA Cup place.

Im with you here laying the 3 of them RC. It was felt weekend just gone that they were all too short and it paid dividends so lets hope for more of the same this weekend

Interesting though that the last 6 are 3-1-2 in favour of Mallorca

And for those that haven't seen the Spanish thread in the Worldwide chat forum, Marca have today alleged that Mallorca are on a 600,000€ bonus from Barcelona if they get a draw or win against Madrid.

Thing is though, Kiko, last weekend I didn't lay Madrid and Barcelona purely because I felt they were too short, I laid them both because I genuinely believed there was a very good chance they'd slip up, as they both had tough games. I'm not sure I do believe that this weekend though - the only team I genuinely believe may well slip up is Sevilla. Although that H2H of Madrid's v Mallorca in recent years has set me thinking.

And something else I'll be looking to find out is whether Nastic's striker Portillo is actually their player, or whether he's on loan from Madrid. Would be an interesting storyline there, with a long-time Madrid player (and possibly still a Madrid player) if he could get a goal against Barcelona that seals the title for Madrid.

Dangerous way of thinking there, Lurieroy. Valencia may have finished their season, but so have Racing, and Sociedad couldn't beat them at home. As for Betis, they were absolutely terrible against an Osasuna side supposedly with nothing to play for. I personally wouldn't go near them next weekend.

Also, on a kind of related point, Racing's keeper saved a penalty against Sociedad last weekend and promptly went mad, as if he'd just saved the decisive penalty in a cup final shootout. Whether he has something personal against Sociedad or against the player that missed, or whether he's just taking the end of season very seriously I don't know, but it was a very strange reaction bearing in mind the game meant nothing really to Racing.

Give us a chance, it's only Monday

Bearing in mind everything is already decided in this league, I think I'll probably be leaving it well alone.

Re: Spain 16/17 Jun - Last round

Zaragoza are far too short a price for my liking, and in any case, a draw will be enough for them, as they're better off in the H2H against Atletico Madrid, and they're also better off on the H2H in the event of a 3-way tie between Zaragoza, Villarreal and Atletico Madrid.

Mallorca has good relations with Barce, both being from The Catalans, Barce's former River Plate striker Maxi Lopez is currently on loan there.

Real team news:
- Helguera is suspeded
- Diarra who has been instrumental in Real's second half success is on international duty with Mali
- Beckham experiencing ankle pains again, Torres possible torn liganebts: Real Madrid C.F. Web Oficial - Real Madrid C.F. Official Web Site

Mallorca's has never been afraid of playing in hostile enviornments, their away record against Top 10 teams in La Liga is a respectable 2-2-5, handed Sevilla their only home lose, and kept many others close (only once trailing at HT):
Recreativo Huelva 1 - 1 Mallorca
FC Sevilla 1 - 2 Mallorca
Atletico Madrid 1 - 1 Mallorca
Real Zaragoza 2 - 0 Mallorca (HT 0:0)
Getafe 1 - 0 Mallorca (HT 0:0)
Valencia 3 - 1 Mallorca (HT 1:0)
Villarreal 2 - 1 Mallorca (HT 1:1)

Barcelona 1 - 0 Mallorca (HT 0:0) Own goal in 2nd half injury time
Racing Santender 0 - 2 Mallorca

Robinho and Marcelo has been called back to Brazil for Copa America Camp, the Real is trying to ask the CBF for permission to allow Robinho to play on Sunday. Sevilla's Daniel Alves has already announced that he intend to join the NT this week.

Re: Spain 16/17 Jun - Last round

I think it is very good to lay Real Madrid on Sunday!

Taragona are friends of Barca and i can´t see a win of Gimnastic in this match! But Real Mallorca showed on Saturday that they can play as good as Sevilla so i think its a good chocie to lay Real

Even when Real wins, they have a tendancy of getting the winning goal late, so you'll get much more value backing them in live betting during the 2nd half for sure. This season at home against poor teams like Gimnastica and Sociedad, they couldn't break through till the second half, the cast of the Gimnastica game, playing with 1 man up since the 5th minute of 1st half:

26/5/2007 Real 2:1 Deportivo - Winner 58'
12/5/2007 Real 4:3 Espanyol - Winner 89'
06/5/2007 Real 3:2 Sevilla - Winner 81' (Sevilla Red Card in 73')
21/4/2007 Real 2:1 Valencia - Winner 73'
18/3/2007 Real 2:0 Gimnastica - Winner 56' (Gimnastica Red Card in 5')
03/12/2006 Real 2:1 Bilbao - Winner 81' (Bilbao Red Card in 74')
17/9/2006 Real 2:0 Sociedad - Winner 69' (Sociedad Red Card in 73')

Only 4 of their 11 home wins have saw them taking the lead in the 1st half and keeping it.

Marca are now claiming the bonus offer has risen to 3 million euros

And Valencia were yesterday confronted by a group of their ultras shouting insults at them during their training session, they don't seem very happy with recent performances.
