Only just had time to browse the odds, but here's what I think...

Germany will be playing a full team with the attacking Muller returning. Fresh from their defeat to Spain, the Germans will be hungry to send their fans home on a high. I have a feeling their mentality will be similar to Manu after they loose - the next team usually suffer the consequences.

Klose will be hungry around the box, knowing that if Uruguay capitulate, he has a chance at steeling the golden boot right from under the noses of Sneijder and Villa. That is if he's fit from a bad back! Muller also has a chance, which is why such an incentive will make Germany a massive threat tonight going forward.

Uruguay may be without Forlan the wonder goal striker. I don't see Uruguay taking this take. Spain struggled to get a goal past the German defence, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Germany win to nil (3.5 @ Paddy Power)

Suarez also returns tonight, and hopefully the cheating shit gets booed with every touch of the ball.
He will be dangerous, but I expect him to be dealt with (quite harshly hopefully, perhaps a metatarsal or two)!

I gone for 1-1 in the Beat Victor comp but I read something earlier which made me think Germany will win this game.

It was something along the lines of Uruguay havent won a world cup game against european opposition for 14 games. They`ve never beaten Germany in 7 attempts. The last 7 3rd place playoffs have been won by a european team. And the 3rd place playoff has NEVER ended in a drawn game.

Ah well, at least my back of over 0.5 goals looks safe

How is this relevant? Bar the 2002 Turkey-South Korea encounter, every single 3rd/4th place playoff since 1982 (ie. 6 of the 7 matches) has been played between two European teams.

Well looks likes Klose won't be breaking any records now the team sheet's in. I'm still confident of a Germany win, but would rather he play a full strength side and look as if he wants to win the game.
