As insignificant as the 3rd/4th playoff may seem, I must admit I have always enjoyed this match as a spectacle from the purist's perspective - it restores an awful lot of the beautiful game with so little at stake and both teams having a tendency to play an attractive, clairvoyant brand of football where goals could almost always be guaranteed.

A far cry from the Japan-Cameroon, England-Algeria, Japan-Paraguay debacles which are nothing short of farcical...
