Group Betting - Advice needed!

Before the tourn started I put £100 (I know people dont normally talk about money but its easier in this example) on Spain and Netherlands to finish top of their groups, Netherlands obviously came in at a canter but Spain are having a few more problems!

I normally just bet on matches so Im not too up on what I should do to cover it as I want some return..the odds were 1.96 I think on ladbrokes, so I obviously get £196 return...

Obviously Spain still have a chance to win the group but have to beat Chile (by only 1 goal I believe because then their goal difference will be same but h2h will clinch it) and hope Switzerland dont beat Honduras by two or more (as Switzerlands h2h would put them top over Spain)..was thinking of betting Chile say £60@ 2.75ish on betfair for the +0.5AH (bet wins if Chile win or draw) for a £165ish return so then I have covered my original stake if Spain dont win or draw..

I know its quite possible Switzerland could win by 2 and Spain win by 1 but I cant cover everything! (I dont think!) bit of advice about the best covering bet/bets to do please from people with experience in such matters..

Actually I may as well do straight group winner bets, Chile are 2.9 and Switz are 7.4 currently on betfair..

Fucking Italy done me for a 14 timer the fucking useless greasy twats , a 3-3 would have got them through too, and should have had at least a 3-3 even though they didnt really deserve it after the 3 games they played !! I would have been in the same boat as you lot waiting for Spain ,and was planning on saving on them not to qualify @ 12/5.....

Forgot about this! ..let it run in the end so made a few quid, it was hardly a big gamble I had fancied Holland to win their group from the off (as most had I think) and chucked Spain in to get the odds up..

Dont generally do this kind of betting to be honest, too much can go wrong..Van Persie to be Hollands top scorer is my only other long-term bet and I seem to have managed to turn him into a total donkey! Although no-one seems to want to get more than one for them, think they now have 5 or so players with one goal..be happy if that bet comes in..hopefully he can nick one in the second half and help get my handicap in also..

Im having to grind like fcuk truth be told be get back the big money I lost early on in the tourn..Im doing better now things have calmed down a bit in the games, Argentina look massive at 2.3 to beat the Germans on Sat..

HG, Re the money you lost early in the tournament, join the club of millions, the bookies made a killing, at least now, what should happen is happening, expensive lesson for me, next time.....sit on my hands for the Group games and just study and take notes!

I echo that. I was having a conversation with MickeyPaul on day 4 of the tournement and I'd lost my entire bank for the competition in four days on individual stupid bets

Pulled it all back up to Saturday and a big kerching yesterday of the England lay in both the game and England to win the tournement. I can still lose if one of the top three don't end up winning it but I can't lose big unless Japan or Ghana win it. If you'd have offered me this position after day four I'd have burst into tears and begged for it

I can now actually enjoy the rest of the competition instead of thinking that everthing is against me (providing I don't get greedy and/or stupid, which I can never rule out).

After seeing the Argys last night I wouldnt touch them at 2.30 vs Ze Germans !!

Mexico created chance after chance last night and just couldnt put them away, wheras Argentina`s 3 goals, 1 was miles offside, 1 was a wonder strike that they wont get every game ,and one was a defensive blooper that will probably be on Question of sport in about 10 years

I backed Argentina and feel I got away with that one somewhat.

Holland today were very hard work and a more accomplished team would have beat them. Anything around evens on Brazil HAS to be taken coz they`ll tear them a new one

Spain are almost as good as Brazil BUT I feel they`ll have a tough game against Portugal who have conceded just 3 goals in 21 games and could prove troublesome - IF and its a biggish IF Spain get through that game , its then para/jap and then arg/ger and theyre in the final - Brazil Spain final is a very good bet IF you think they`ll get past Portugal, coz Paraguay or Japen will crumble in the qtr, and then argys and germans are very bad at the back and Spain are just the team to rip them to shreds - diff class altogether. Ive had a little saver against my outrights on Brazil and Spain, on Portugal at 25/1 just incase.

Im similair OD, though ive been using the bookies !!

Im good to go, only way I lose money now is if Ghana/Paraguay/Japan win the whole thing, and 1 of them is out tommorrow. Ive had 3 match bets , argys last night, and Brazil Holland today, all won.

I was down as my only WC bet was my 14 timer which Italy fucked me with , but I managed to qfy for my VC £60 free bet ,which luckily ive made the most of so far
