Re: World Cup Group G
It is indeed a cracking group. I can't see Brazil going out but given the way Portugal performed in qualifying they might be there for the taking. Can anyone see North Korea getting a point from somewhere or are they just going to be the whipping boys?

Re: World Cup Group G
The first match looks crucial for the Ivory Coast and Portugal.Scenario, the Portugese lose they then might be faced with having to beat the Brazilians in the final group match, should they beat the North Koreans.Ivory Coast lose, will then face the Brazilians in the second match, were Brazil will be looking to sew up their place, again not wanting to need some kind of result in their last game against Portugal. If the Ivory coast somehow manage to beat the Brazilians, that would make Portugal v Brazil a monster game.

Re: World Cup Group G
I think Ivory Coast could secure a draw in their opening match, and this will put a lot of heat on the portuguese, whose hopes will hang on their last game with Brazil.
However: I can't see Brazil losing their first two games, so I think they will be playing with their reserves in their last match, in order to keep its stars ready for the next match. It's usually the case in World Cup or Euro. Portugal then might have a chance to qualify. I don't think Brazil wants Portugal out of the competition this soon. |

Re: World Cup Group G
Cakewalk for Brazil - Portugal and the Ivories are much of a muchness and id go with the Ivories to edge 2nd as they are the bigger price, and Portugal couldnt break down Cape Verde 2 days ago. North Korea are absolute filth

Re: World Cup Group G
A team that cannot beat Cape Verde is certainly not going to beat Cote d'Ivoire, so there!
North Korea simply cannot score goals. They often defend well, but that's facing the likes of UAE, Iran and Saudi Arabia. Faced by the likes of Ronaldo and Drogba they are sure to concede some. Obviously Brazil is a league above all. |

Re: World Cup Group G
Brazil and Portugal for me. I'm not impressed by the hype around Ivory Coast. I watched some of their African Nations games and they won't be good enough when they come up against the top teams in the world.
Portugal have been shit - I know they have. I'm relying on them to pull together as some sort of team when it counts. Thinkiing ahead, I'll be laying Brazil to win the last game of the group stage as soon as the prices appear on Betfair. They may well be through by then and be playing the game at half pace. |

Re: World Cup Group G
Brazil are defensive nowadays under defensive minded Dunga, happy to take 1-0,2-0 wins , North Korea the supposed whipping boys are very defensive and disciplined, probably wont score but wont concede too many either. Portugal are another very solid defensive team who dont score many, or concede many and are happy to take 1-0 wins, and the Ivories possibly without Drogba will also focus on not conceding. How this group is the fav for most goals is beyond me ??

Re: World Cup Group G
Drogba is back in training and is expected to play at least some part in is country's campaign. My guess is that he'll play for a small part of the first two games and all the third game in a shit or bust effort to qualify.
Nani is out of Portugal's set up but I'd still back them to go through with Brazil |

Re: World Cup Group G
Allright lads,
Don't quite get how Brazil can be 1/9 on yet you can pick up Fabiano to score anytime at 8/11 (HUGE) and Robinho at evens on skybet. Nonsense, Brazil are ranked best and N korea 105th best (or 93rd worst) in the world. Looks bleedin tasty to me. Fabs is low as 4/9 with tote. Fill yer boots Mickey, while you still can. While Robbie has the potential to play kack as well as brilliant, he nearly always performs in a Brazil shirt. I recall him smashing them in at the Copa America for Brazil reserves and leading them to glory against a full strength Argentina. And thet was while he was doing naff all with Real. Scored a brace recently in a warm up against Zimbabwe as well, i think. I reckon he's good for a couple of goals in this tournie. The only thing giving me second thoughts is the the fact all but one game have seen less than 2.5 goals scored, but CHEEEEEEZZZZZ 8/11 is massive isn't it? The lads in yellow are 1/2 to win to nil, looks solid as well. |
