I have found these few opening matches so hard to bet (except Germany win), and maybe that's why I am not keen on betting sides. I have been betting corners, yellow cards and red cards mainly, and that's where I won most of my money.
If I have to pick sides in the last few matches, I would be crying by now.

It wasn't the best of games but it shown Italy aren't over the hill just yet, they played well within themselves and in the second half shown glimpses of how good they are as a team, they just looked a bit ring rusty thats all, Like in Germany 2006 I can see the Italians getting better as the Tournie goes on.

I'm gonna have a wee bet on them while i can get 20/1 with the intention of laying them off in the quarters or even semi's depending on how they are shaping.

Can't give any advice on tomorrows game as i know sweet FA about New Zealand , I'll just go with Instinct and say 2-0 for Slovakia with Vlad Weiss having a blinder (hopefully).

Anyone thinking about that 4-3 Italy win last time these two met? I had forgotten all about it. New Zealand caused them loads of problems with long balls and set pieces apparently. I'm well aware the World Cup is a different kettle of fish but.... I was almost thinking Italy -1 until being reminded of that previous game. Buffon missing for Italy too.

I'm on Italy HT/FT Mickey after watching how poor Slovakia were vs Paraguay and having watched Italy DOMINATE Paraguay the 2nd half of their 1-1 draw and Slovakia dominating New Zealand until that last minute equaliser i feel there could be a big difference in quality just hopefully Italy play like they did 2nd half and not the 1st vs Paraguay...

Only thing put me off the overs Mickey is that vs Mexico in a friendly only 2/3 months ago New Zealand couldn't score and Mexico won 2-0, with pretty much both full teams, well Mexico are similar to Italy in that defensively fragile against big strong teams like New Zealand but can unlock your defence at will, well New Zealand couldn't score against them, think the 4-3 result was a one off....

Cannot believe Lippi stuck with same side going forward - the game changed in Italys way when he made changes 2nd half and injected some pace into the side.
