Snowboard cross or snowboardcross (also Snowboarder X, SBX, Boardercross, Boarder-X or BX) is a snowboard competition in which a group of snowboarders (usually four) start simultaneously atop an inclined course, then race to reach the finish line first. Basically, its SSX without the Tricky.

The Men's was yesterday, and my second choice won it. The finals here:

The Favourite at 2/1 (22-25 sporting index) for todays is Lindsey Jacobellis if you watched teh event last time you'll remember she tried to trick off the last jump in the final while in the lead, before falling and only managing silver. She has 6 X games golds and one silver, taking gold every year since 2008, including this year.

Last Olympic Gold Winner was Tanja Frieden. She retired three weeks ago and is priced up at 25/1 (1-3)

The winner of the bronze last time was Canada's Dominique Maltais 10/1 (6-8) She is Canada's top hope in this event

Zoe Gillings is the only Brittish hope in this event at 20/1 (0.5-2) She has had a good season so far coming first in the German Nationals and third in the Austrian FIS.

Another Canadian with a good chance is Maëlle Danica Ricker 5/2 (18-22) a two time X games gold winner, she was 4th in Turin last time, losing out on bronze to country woman Maltais, after falling and being hospitaliszed with concussion.

Norways hopes rest on Helene Olafsen, who has taken silver in the last two X games and Gold in the FIS champioship event. Priced at 5/2 (15-18)

So my picks for the medals; a Canadian 1-2 finish, Mailtas and Ricker in either order, Followed by Olafsen in third with Jacobellis the unfortunate 4th in the Final.

My Bet has to be Mailtais in the medal index (50 Gold, 25 Silver, 10 Bronze) Buy at 8

Hey Hey another Snowboard cross fan, what a cracking final that was last night, I don't know any of the names but it has me hooked, caught my eye at the last olympics and I've been telling people to watch it all week.

The canadian came second last night if i remember rightly, I only know them as colours so he would be the red one who looked to run out of steam at the end after looking like he was gonna piss it until the yellow one caught him up.

Look to lay anyone under evens. This is one crazy sport and anyone on that mark pre-final is worth opposing due to the sheer random nature of it all. The French chap reached 1.7 last night before going out in the 1/4 finals when he got obstructed by a faller.
