Men - Canada v Norway - Canada -6.0 - 1.83

Basically at the last World Champs Canada beat Norway 5-1. This was an under strength Canadian side without all their NHL stars. Norway 11th in the World and having failed to qualify for the Olympics since the mid-90's are just happy to be here. Canada at home, with all their NHL stars can do better.

Women - Sweden v Slovakia - Sweden -7.5 - 1.7

Slovakia lost their first game 18-0 to Canada (a record for the Canadians), they're a fledgling nation who have just been promoted to the elite group of nations for the first time. The Swedes are realistic bronze medal contenders and at the last World Champs beat both the Russians and the Kazaks 8-0 and 9-0 respectively, both of those are more established elite sides than Slovakia.

Sweden only win 6-2. Comfortably the best goalkeeping performance I've ever seen by a woman in any sport by the Slovakian lass. My thanks to Sporting Bet for limiting me on this event and saving me a few quid.

Canada win 8-0.

Bit of a nervy one as they were still 0-0 after the first period and looking pretty shit. Then they clicked and destroyed them.

Womens - Canada v Sweden - -5.5 - @ 1.8

This is essentially a nothing game with both having qualified though Canada will want to win to avoid the US in the semi's. However they met in similar circumstances in last years world championships and Canada won 7-0, in the past few world championships they've not let up in their final group game either despite having already qualified with far more convincing wins than the 7-0.

With the spread at 5.5 this gives us an extra goal to play with, factor in home advantage too (the crowd will by baying for blood) and my levels of disgust at the Swedish performance on monday and I'm happy to take the spread on. 1.6 most places so 1.8@ Hills will do me.

Canada 9-0 Sweden and we're not even at the halfway mark.

I expected the Swedes to be bad, I didn't expect them to be this bad.
