Re: Dexter

Not watched it yet, is it supposed to be funny (in a dark way)? Or is it just drama? Anyting to compare it to?

Re: Dexter

There is a touch of dark comedy about it Joker but once it gets going its a cracking suspense drama/thriller with plenty of un forseeable twists. best tv show I've ever seen probably and compares to nothing I've seen b4 tell the truth as the storyline is so unusual.

Re: Dexter

I've been watching Prison break lately as i'm running out of things to watch, not on par with Dextor but its a good watch and still a pretty strong storyline even going into a 3rd series, a bit daft at times and totally unbelievable but good viewing never the less.

I never used to be into TV series's but the Americans have really got the market buzzing with some cracking shows which is just aswell as the movie market went stale a few yrs ago.

I've also been watching Jericho, that aint bad either once you get into it.

Re: Dexter

I like Jericho, it was a real shame the way the second season came about before it got canceled.

They only made 7 episodes of series two, they had to cut out loads of characters and storylines from it, still great TV though.

Best US Prison series was OZ a few years ago, late 90's/early 00s, it'll be available to download online somewhere probably, one of the best US series to ever make it to the UK

Re: Dexter

I loved the first season on prison break and the second was almost as good but it has gone steadily downhill in the third. Looking forward to season two of “Heroes” as well but consensus seems to be that it isn’t a patch on the first season.

I’ve started watching “The Wire” on DVD – seen the first two seasons and just starting the third. This is absolutely brilliant. Great cast, nice plotting and doesn’t shy away from the fact that the lines between good and bad get blurred. Probably the best show I’ve seen on TV in years.

Re: Dexter

Interesting Witnmann as I downloaded the wire series 1 about two weeks ago after spotting it on imdb, can't say i'd ever heard of it b4 but it got rave reviews and its a few yrs old too.

That will be next on my list as it looks like all the other series I've been watching have been cut short, didnt even know Jericho had been cut, ffs wouldent have bothered watching the 7 seven episodes of series 2 to date if i'd have known that, thought it was down to that strike a few months ago that effected a lot of programs including heroes.

Re: Dexter

You might really really like this Komp. I think I seem to remember youre interested in serial killers? Well thats what this is all about and gives insight in to how they think, feel, the trouble they have fitting in, forming relationships and connecting to the rest of humanity etc. All told introspectively from the perspective of a killer and you actually end up rooting for him and liking him. You should think its great if you can get over the American made thing that is. Although it has a distinct latino type feel to it as much as American.

Re: Dexter

Wittman does the wire ever speed up any?, I'm on episode 3 series 1 and at the moment and its like watching paint dry, I keep telling the Mrs's its while we get to know the characters but i don't think she will wear it much longer and i can't bear the thought of Ramseys nightmare kitchens.

Thats the speed Slick. Don't think it is any slower paced than the Sopranos though. There's not much in the way of shooot outs .

Re: Dexter

I watched a couple of episodes of The Wire and felt the same way as Slick - slooooow sloooow slooooow

Anyone watch The Big Bang Theory? A comedy not a drama like those being discussed in this thread, but pretty funny I think.
