Re: Chiefs Tennis Thread.
4 points on Peer to beat Jankovic @5/6 tonight.
Given Jankovic's form this season Peer should be 1/2 for this match. The Serbian has been woeful so far in 2010. Four tournaments this season and four losses to players outside the top 10 before the quarter final stage. Peer on the other hand has made a final and two semis already this season. Big chance for the 20th seed to oust out of sorts Jelena. Verdict: 4 Points on Peer @5/6 |

Re: Chiefs Tennis Thread.
Ouch! Jankovic back to near her best as she easily beats Peer 6-2 6-2.
2 point double today of Lacko and Gasquet today @2.08/1 Lacko has impressed me when i've seen him recently and gave Youzhny a huge scare a couple of weeks back in Dubai. Gasquet is up against Simon whose game looks awful at the minute. He was soundly beaten by Dabul in Indian Wells the other day and Dabul is a nobody. Winners/Bets: 9/18 Stakes: 66 pts Profit: -5.33 pts. |

Re: Chiefs Tennis Thread.
Lacko won but Gasquet rather surprisingly lost to Simon in straight sets.
Two bets today. 4 points on Lacko to beat Hajek @4/9 and 2 points on Kleybanova to beat Jankovic @10/11. Winners/Bets: 9/19 Stakes: 68 pts Profit: -7.33 pts. |

In the mens tournament Nadal is 8/11 to win outright. Think that's very short considering he hasn't been at his best this week (or this year for that matter). Murray beat Nadal at the Aussie Open and that will be fresh in both players minds. 4 points on Murray to win Indian Wells Tournament @4.5 Winners/Bets: 9/21 Stakes: 74 pts Profit: -13.33 pts. |

Re: Chiefs Tennis Thread.
Hi, Chief, just popping up in your thread as the other one isn't ticking over nonetheless. And I'll use the chance to oppose your outright bet
![]() I mean I'll back Soderling as can see him causing Murray many, many troubles. The Swede is the most progressive player during the last two years (apart his shaky start of this season) and he's quite capable of outshooting, outserving and outplaying Murray in this one. Andy wasn't convincing at all against Russel and if he doesn't improve a lot for this clash I reckon he's doomed. Moreover, if Soderling wins the 1/4 final, he has great chances for winning the tournament - probable semi against Roddick - absolutely winnable and a chance to punish Nadal again - this time on hard - not without chances. So - Soderling to beat Murray @2.88 - 3 pts Soderling to win outright @9.8 - 2 pts |

Re: Chiefs Tennis Thread.
Nice call engineer. Soderling dominated the match and although Murray improved in the second set the result was never realy in doubt. Hope that Sod goes all the way for you now.
![]() Nadal plays Ljubicic today and I reckon old Ivan can give Rafa a scare. Rafa is 1.5 to win in straight sets which is a bit short for my liking. With Ljubicic serving so well I'll be surprised if we don't see a couple of tie breaks in this match. Good chance for the Croatian to take a set off Rafa. Laying Rafa to win 2-0 @1.5 for 7 points. (Liability 3.5 Pts) Winners/Bets: 9/22 Stakes: 78 pts Profit: -17.33 pts. |

Re: Chiefs Tennis Thread.
Going for a short priced favourite this evening but one who I think is a fair bit overpriced.
Sevastova to bt Gallovits @4/11: Sevastova has been playing pretty solid tennis since Dubai and has won 8 out of 11 matches including beating four top 50 players (Jankovic, Ivanovic Benesova and Dushevina) That form is way ahead of anything Gallovits has managed this year.Gallovits managed won good victory against Errani but otherwise has been pretty poor losing to players ranked 74, 167 and 118. I think this will be straightforward victory for Sevastova and although the price is short I think it represents value. 6 points on Sevastova @4/11 |

Re: Chiefs Tennis Thread.
Not nearly as convincing a victory as I thought it would be. Gallovits gave her a good match and it took three sets for Sevastova to close it out.
Despite that I'm backing her again as I actually think the match she has today is easier. She plays Lepchenko who has been poor in the last two tournaments. She lost very tamely to both Nara and Chan and doesn't seem to have any sort of form that suggests she can win today. 6 points Sevastova @1.43 I'm also thinking of backing Chan to beat Baltacha later on as I don't really rate the Brit. Think Chan is aout 5/4. Will decide in a while. Winners/Bets: 11/24 Stakes: 87.5 pts Profit: -8.15 pts. |

Re: Chiefs Tennis Thread.
Aaagh! Decided to use Betfair odds at the last minute as they were slightly better and of course my girl retires after losing the first set and going down 3-0 in the second. Would have got my money back if I had stuck with Paddys odds. Not sure what happened with Shevdova but she was obviously carrying some sort of injury.
Have decided to go with Chan. Don't think Baltacha's odds should be so low. She's had one great result all year (against Na Li last week) but apart from that she hasn't beaten much. Her inconsistency is highlighted by teh fact she lost to a player ranked about 150 in the round after she beat Li. These two have met once before with Chan winning 6-1 6-0. Although in fairness that was 5 years ago. Verdict: 3 pts Chan @2.34 Winners/Bets: 11/25 Stakes: 93.5 pts Profit: -14.15 pts. |

Re: Chiefs Tennis Thread.
Chan had set points in the second set but blew it to finish off a dismal day for me.
Backing Bammer to beat Parmentier now @1.45. Bammer is having a great run and hasn't lost to anybody outside the top 25 since January. Verdict: 6 points on Bammer @1.45 Winners/Bets: 11/26 Stakes: 96.5 pts Profit: -17.15 pts. |
