Re: Wimbledon 2009 Betting
I guess the handicap can't be ruled out, but it's not a bet I'd be rushing to take myself.
Since Murray made the top 10 in the rankings, they've met twice, with Murray winning both of them, and in their only meeting on grass (Wimbledon 2006), Murray won in straight sets (despite being ranked 44 in the world then, with Roddick the 3rd seed). Overall Murray leads the H2H (for completed matches) 5-3. Still, Roddick's always dangerous on grass, I'd be pretty surprised if he beat Murray but it's not beyond the realms of all possibility. Neither the 4.0 on Roddick to win nor the 1.8 for Roddick +4.5 games really jump out at me as being fantastic opportunities though. Just my opinion though, and if this thread's shown anything, it's that my opinion in tennis is probably not one to be trusted Good luck if you go with Roddick. |

Re: Wimbledon 2009 Betting
Fuck - he's 1.40 outright @ bet365 with Roddick @ 13.00 - ehhhhm.... Haas @ 26.00 outright and 8.00 to beat Fed. Haas @ evs +6.5 which is what Wawrinka was against Murray.
Fed @ 1.40? Jesus. I was even scoffing at the odds on pre-tournament. Us noobs eh? |

Re: Wimbledon 2009 Betting
And bet365 go Roddick +4.5 @ 1.90 - I thought we might get evs. Touch and go for me as I know nothing other than I think Murray looks a bit wobbly.

Re: Wimbledon 2009 Betting
I still can't recover from the women's 1/4-finals, and the only thing I know is that I won't be betting on the semis. Can't see any value but I'd be very happy to see Russia turning the Williams over.
Could have some bets on the doubles, but will have a look at the games first. |

Re: Wimbledon 2009 Betting
![]() ![]() ![]() How did Dementiva missed her chances in what was a great game... Will have a couple of largish bets on the doubles though: Today: Knowles/Groenefeld to beat Bryan/Stosur @3.35 - 4 pts. Don't think we have such a difference here, this game is close to 50:50 in my eyes. Tomorrow: Black/Huber to beat the Williams brothers @6 - 8 pts...Taking this bet earlier as I can't believe that price... Well, Black and Huber should be big favourites against each other team and here we have...5/1!!! I reckon the Williams are hugely overestimated here...and if Venus makes the final I doubt they'll take this game do-or-die. Not to mention their tiredness. So, this could be a close affair and the experienced world No.1 duo could "surprisingly" prevail... |

Re: Wimbledon 2009 Betting
I also added Venus 1st set over 9.5 @ 1.92.
And as for doubles, I am thinking about Nestor/Zimojic win @ 1.54. Any thought guys? |

Re: Wimbledon 2009 Betting
Well, I just came back to say that I fancy their opponents - Blake and Fish, rioma, but as you experienced you shouldn't let me interfere your decisions.
I'll have a small bet on the yanks as I feel they have much to offer here. OK, Nestor/Zimonich are the defending champions, they destroy everything on grass, but Blake and Fish formed a very dangerous duo and this game could go the distance. In the late stages the pressure could work against the favourites and I won't be surprised to see an all American final ... Blake/Fish @2.62 - 3 pts |

Re: Wimbledon 2009 Betting
Hmmm. This is an interesting bet...Murray to get more aces than Roddick today!? Ladbrokes and Skybet offer 11/4 that'll happen (1/4 that Roddick does instead).
Not my thinking but Jon Wilde/Betfred over at Teletext's Betting News. Muray to serve up treat |

I can't make up my mind about the outcome of this game also. As RC stated it doesn't represent much value to back Roddick (with or without handicap), bearing in mind the h2h. For me the other semifinal is much more interesting, moreover I have an outright bet on Haas still pending... |
