Re: Wimbledon 2009 Betting

Melzer - Odesnik
Tip: Away Odds: 5 4/10

Melzer in my opinion is super appreciated dispute with Odesnik which handle well on fast surfaces, and also provides a good service. Odesnik not played this year on grass, but be sure to mostly prepared for this tournament. Before this tournament melzer played in Halle. I think it worth a try to share his victory Odesnik. U.S. defeated even this year in Houston on Melzer very very definitely in 2 sets, 6-4 6-0, on a red slag. Maybe this area is not his favorite but worth a try Odesnik a surprise, seeing surprises at this edition of the tournament since the first round both male pattern and the feminine. A good rate for a small stake which may mean a good profit.

Re: Wimbledon 2009 Betting

You nearly talked me to back Odesnik, fixking, but now I see a huge drift of his price - he's up to 15/1 at betfair. Don't know the reason, but I'll stay away...

But today's opponent is very tricky - a competent grass courter with more experience (altough a real shite at grand slams). Anyway, my opinion is that the Russian should be a 1.7-1.8 favourite in this game. If the match goes long in time Grigor will probably find it hard to handle the pressure. OK, I'm not saying he's without chances, but for me Kunitsyn looks the pick in this match.
Still, I'll be all for Dimitrov and I'll be extremely happy if I lose this small bet...
Kunitsyn @2.36 - 2 pts
Pity, Dimitrov retired injured after winning the 1st set...

Re: Wimbledon 2009 Betting

any ideas whether this bet will be void

Zverev to beat Tursunov @3.3 - 6 pts

looks like he retired with 3 games left after losing previous sets... bit of a joke if no payout...

Re: Wimbledon 2009 Betting

Hi guys, how did all of u go yesterday on Day 2?

Day 1 of Wimbledon was a really bad start for a lot of ppl, so I decided to rest yesterday.

Today, I would like to share one of my fav write-ups about today's tennis, all opinions are wellcome ^^

"
R. Schuettler -218 over Sela- Schuettler lost last year at Wimbledon to Nadal in Semifinals here, with points to defend you expect him to come out motivated and focused to take on Sela. However, Sela is ahead all time H2H 2-0 with one of those wins coming this year at the Australian Open in 4 sets. The difference is this, Schuettler is a little more suited for grass as his 33-24 record shows on grass 7-3 in last 10 and 16-8 overall at Wimbledon vs a 4-9 overall grass record for Sela. Schuettler has a big first serve and is solid from behind the baseline, he is not the most agile guy in the world which is where Sela has a slight advantage. The weakness in Sela's game is that his serve can leave him at times and that will tend to create openings for Bp's. Schuettler will take this in 4.

A. Pavlyuchenkova -161 over Vinci- The up and comer Pavlychenkova should be able to take out the elder Vinci. Both players have had success on grass but in her short career at Wimbledon Pavlyuchenkova has made the round of 32 here last yea and shown the tools to go deeper here in the draw. With a good serve and solid opening round win 6-2 6-2 over Petra Cetkovska, Vinci is not without weapons herself as she has a good serve and managed to take out Rybarkova who won a grass warmup to Wimbledon. Palyuchenkova to get through in 3 is my predicition largely based on confidence and the fact she did so well here last year.

Urzela Radwanska -105 vs D. Cibulkova- Radwanksa has a nice serve and plays an aggresive style suited for faster surfaces Cibulkova is 1-4 on grass and prefers playing more on Clay. Radwanska at 8-4 on grass has shown a bit of success on this surface. Expecting Radwanksa in 3 to move on.

4th match that is more of a personal play then anything else.

Jie Zheng -119 over Hantuchova- Hantuchova has a really good serve and a very good career record on grass, Hantuchova struggled with the young Robson in the 1st round where Zheng won in 2 tie breaks vs a good player in Barrios who is a scrappy type player. I think Zheng who has a great overall game will be able to dictate alot of points on Hantuchova's 2nd serve as she is a gifted returner and has a pretty decent serve herself. If Hantuchova is able to land alot of 1st serves in it will be alot tighter match as she relies heavily on her big 1st serve, if that percentage is around 50-60% as opposed to high 70-80% range then this could be straights for Zheng "

My bets will decide later, but I tend to stay away from the Schuettler / Sela match.

GL to all !!!!!!

Well, if you are not posting your own thoughts than you should point out where you've taken this from (at least).

But nice previews after all...

I place most of my bets at betfair and they pay out if the 1st set is completed. So yestersday I had two winners after retirement - Kunitsyn and Zverev. If my bets were placed at bet365 for example both would be void...

Re: Wimbledon 2009 Betting

With you on Johansson (1pt @ 5.5) and Parra Santonja (2pts @ 3), Engineer.

Also on:

Set 1 of Karlovic v Darcis:
7-6 Karlovic @ 6
7-6 Darcis @ 9.5

Dutched those two for 1pt, works out at around 3.68, looks decent enough seeing as Darcis wasn't broken at all in his first round, while Karlovic is ... well, he's just Karlovic

Vliegen v Verdasco over 32.5 games @ 1.9 2pts
Cibulkova v Radwanska @ 2.1 2pts

I know Radwanska's got the far better grass court record, but she's not (yet) in the same class as Cibulkova overall, can't have her as this short a favourite myself.

hantuchova v Zheng @ 2.2 2pts
