Re: Australian Open 2009 18th January
Have taken Kleybanova to beat Ivanovic, only because my local bookie offers the huge price of 7.00 for the Russian
- this is their biggest mistake recently. From the others will take: Wawrinka @2.37 - 3 pts and Wozniacki - 5 games @2 and a tie @8 - 5 + 2 pts |

Re: Australian Open 2009 18th January
Missed all the games this night and now I'm quite keen to oppose Nadal somehow. Of course it will be very speculative to say that Nadal will lose today, but I still see the German's chances being decent. Both haven't dropped a set yet, but Nadal's opponents were much weaker and I quite liked Haas' performance against Shwank and Cipolla, to be honest. The hard court is the place where he can beat Nadal, although most probably it won't be today. Anyway, I can't miss that generous price for the German and take his chances to win a set or keep it quite close at least.
Haas to win @10 - 0.75 pts Haas (+ 8 games) @2 - 7.5 pts Over 30.5 games @1.83 - 5 pts Nadal 3:1 @4 & Nadal 3:2 @12 - 2 x 1.5 pts Could also consider some of the sets to go to tiebreak, but will look for odds now. |

Re: Australian Open 2009 18th January
What a massive victory for posh Verdasco!
Wish I was on him, but couldn't wake up early enough this morning. So, in the last game today I'll be on Blake against Tsonga. Not much of a value there, but I'll take the dog for some interest. Blake is the kind of player that can give the French many difficulties and if he manages to hang long enough in the match we could have another upset here. Blake @2.62 - 2.5 pts |

Re: Australian Open 2009 18th January
It's getting more and more difficult to find value in the singles, but I'll try to save my dignity
and my bank and finish the Aus Open in some profit (or minimun loss at least) - I hate tournaments played outside Europe ...So, I'll concentrate at the doubles mainly. Fyrstenberg/Matkowski to beat Kubot/Marach @1.44- 5pts Bhupati/Knowles to beat Lopez/Verdasko @1.57 - 10pts - max bet for me here 2:0 the same match @2.50 - 2pts And a double of the above two - 5pts Dellaqua/Schiavone to beat Groenefeld/Schnyder @1.83 - 6pts 2:0 this one @3.25 - 2pts Black/Huber to beat Hantuchova/Sugiama @1.61 - 7.5 pts 2:0 also @2.20 - 5pts Hsieh/Peng to beat the Williams @6 - 1pt Williams to win 2:1 @4 - 2pts Llagostera Vives/Sanchez to beat Dechy/Santangelo @2.5 - 4pts Mixed doubles: Chuang/Kas to beat Robredo/Garrigues @2.75 - 2pts Dechy/Ram to beat Huber/Murray @2.1 - 2 pts Nearly whole my bank at bet 365 goes on these ![]() Only one at the singles and quite a speculative one, admittedly - Dokic to beat Safina @4.33 - 1.5 pts Safina to win 2:1 @3.5 - 2pts - maybe Dokic will be ready for one more battle... |

Re: Australian Open 2009 18th January
Okay....
I'm taking Bartoli to bt Zvonareva at 5/2. For me, these odds are too big for bartoli and they have tempted me in, if Bartoli plays like she did against Jankovic she will win this match, but can she keep up the level of performance? I hope so. Also, i'm having a small stake on Dokic to bt Safina at 3/1. Safina has been out of sorts and its been a fairytale tournament for Dokic, it could continue here. anddddd, i may be brave to take simon at 8/1 against my hero Nadal. Surely i can't do this? Gilles beat him at madrid masters last time they met and Nadal has stated he finds him awkward to play against. I'm not going to bet on this just yet. I think i'm being pathetic.

I can also consider backing Simon against Nadal, Rafa, but will make up my mind later... |
