What a great feeling - tennis is back with loads of tournaments, mainly in the eastern part of the world.
This year I've decided not to open new threads for each week of tennis as the interest isn't significant (well, posting wise, at least) and there shouldn't be many threads containing 3-4 posts. Of course there will be separate threads opened for the Grand Slams.
If there are more interested posters and especially if Wittmann and RC are back one day we could be back to the good old weekly threads. But for now I intend to try it this way.

So, we begin with the following:

ATP: Brisbane, Chennai, Doha - all hard courts

WTA: Brisbane & Auckland - hard courts

I can't use my Ausie wallet at betfair and I won't bet on the Australian and New Zealand tournaments there, I'll mainly use bet365,10bet and betsafe for them.

Fuck knows how will the year start so I'll have a go with Gulbis to beat Djoko @4.50 - 1pt.

Serra to beat Ferrero @2.62 - 1.5 pts

Beck to beat Karanusic @2.0 - 3.5 pts

Chardy to beat Petzschner @1.96 - 3pts

Junqueira to beat Clement @3.0 - 2pts

Youzhny to beat Andreev @2.18 - 4 pts

Will have a bet on Vliegen in the afternoon. Can't see the Hernandez taking something from that game. He's a typical claycourter although he was playing some tennis on hard last year. Still I see the Belgian as a much more quality player.

And just stuck a treble: Tursunov + Vliegen + Tipsarevic @1.92 at my local bookie, that gives surprisingly generous odds on tennis today

Decent start of the year, pity that Vliegen dropped a set against the Spaniard and Tursunov spoliled the treble, but after all, a nice profit.

Pironkova is a bit of a value against Sara Errani WTA wise. The Bulgarian is the better player in my eyes and should prevail. Hopefully she keeps a decent first serve percentage.

Pironkova @2.20 - 2.5 pts

Don't know what to expect from Karatancheva and Govortsova though. Sesil is full blasting this year, passed the qualifiers and took care of Benesova in the 1st round. But the price seems a bit short to me, would rather take anything over 3.20.

Dementieva will face a strong opponent in the face of Erakovic and I won't be surprised if she drops a set - my bets will be Erakovic @7.5 - 0.5 pts and Dementieva 2:1 @4.33 - 0.5 pts

Several 50-50 looking games where I fancy the underdogs' chances:

Serra to beat Melzer @2.50 - 1pt

Ancic to beat Verdasko @2.0 - 1.5 pts

Nieminen to beat Tsonga @3.50 - 4 pts - the bet of the night for me
