Tennis betting fans will be finding it hard to contain themslves waiting for for the US Open betting to begin on the 25th August 2008. Roger Federer will going for his 5th straight win and is best priced at odds of 2/1 with Betfred to do it. No left hander has won this tournement since 1984 with John McEnroe. The 70's it was dominated by left handers with McEnroe, Jimmy Connors, Guillermo Vilas and Manuel Orantes winning it 10 years running. Not relevant to you sorting your US Open Bets out but slightly interesting i thought.

Well, maybe it's the best opportunity for a lefty to win it after Federrer being so out of sort, but it won't be easy for Nadal also. This could be a wide open one, maybe similar to the Oz open.

I cant see past Nadal myself, Fed could do anything, Djokovic is all over the place. Murray might make his first slam final (have'nt seen the draw) if he continues on the same vein of form.

Looks a 50-50 match to me, so go with the underdog.

Rezai to beat Muhammed @ 1.48 2.5pts
Rezai not in the best of form, but really can't see Muhammed providing her with much of a test here.

Lay Srebotnik 2-0 v Wickmayer @ 1.9, liability 1.25pts
Have a feeling Wickmayer may actually win this one, Srebotnik in average form of late, Wickmayer a promising youngster might just surprise her here.

Came down to a choice of Simon or Del Potro for a longshot in the mens, and there's not much value now in Del Potro in my opinion (currently at 50). See him as the biggest threat to Simon's chances of a quarter-final meeting with probably Murray or Wawrinka.

Azarenka is in what looks the weakest quarter of the womens draw. Zvonareva in that quarter too but suspect her run to the semis in Beijing may count against her chances here. Jankovic always a danger, but also always an injury liability.

Brodksy v Szavay @ 10.5 1pt
Lay Szavay 2-0 v Brodsky @ 1.35 to win 2.5pts

Szavay, after an excellent season last year, has been very erratic this year. Up against a promising wild card youngster with home support on an outside court, yes, it'd be a surprise if Szavay lost, but there's no way in my opinion you could be backing her at a price of 1.10. Value definitely with Brodsky.

Domachowska to beat Mattek @ 2.52 2pts

Mattek had a great run during the clay and grass season, but has faded a bit since then, and has lost first round in her last two tournaments, which included to straight sets in Toronto against Domachowska.

Lay Govortsova 2-0 v Zahlalova @ 1.67, liability 1.5pts

Govortsova's not a player I trust at all. Should be capable of beating Zahlalova, but suspect she may make life difficult for herself.
