Re: Rolland Garros 2008

i would like to contribute on women roland garros, despite the fact i rarely watch women tennis

my idea is Safina, after i watched today the match against sharapova

this was not woman, but a wild animal, with a power of atp, poor and bad character sharapova was hopeless

i think Safina, the wild russian horse, deserves the risk of placing money as outright winner-good luck to my self-

lets go to men

Nadal vs Almagro

here i go with Almagro @15.5

if there is a player to stop nadal, then this is almagro;
the guy plays marvellous tennis, excellent service, top level baseline game, and in addition, as i heard today, he feels ready to beat his fellow spaniard nadal, thats very important factor, how a player faces each individual game

i predict also, that if nadal defeated, the excuse is ready :
"hey, i was injured"

so is no need to wait nadal to say this nonsense, i say it before the match start

thiis match has similarities to nadal ferrero match in rome,

for various reasons, Almagro deserves the risk of 100 euros

for those they afraid even the shadow of their selves, then

Almagro +7.5 games as safer option

good luck boys

Re: Rolland Garros 2008

Bondarenkos delivered nicely in a thriller, I won't miss the opportunity to back them more in the future.

Azarenka wasn't looking good against Kuznetsova yesterday, hope things will be different today.

I'll also oppose Nadal somehow, Almagro is really showing great tennis and it should be closer game than odds suggest.

No big bets for me today.

It was only a few days ago you were describing Almagro as "just an avarage clay courter, limited tennis personality"

Wouldn't necessarily argue though that Almagro has a chance. I've laid Nadal 3-0 @ 1.56, may also back Almagro to win although I'll decide later.

Also laid Ivanovic v Schnyder @ 1.17 in the women's event. Schnyder's a player I like to oppose as a favourite but back if she's an outsider. She leads Ivanovic 4-3 on the H2H, although Ivanovic has won the last 3. She may be on the decline, but she's still the world no. 11, and she's not completely without a chance here.

Kuznetsova v Azarenka lay Kuznetsova @1.55 stakes 6/10 betfair

Very good this young player. Azarenka is in excellent condition and she is playing a great tournament.
Great potentialities for this player that has a lot of talent and she's easily winning many difficult matches.
I don't know if it will win against Kuznetsova but I think that this match could be balanced to earn with betfair.

Ljubicic your Monfils - Ljubicic @1.74 betfair stake 6/10

Monfils will play with the help of his public.
Clay court are not surface preferred by ljubucic but in this period Ljubicic is playing a good tennis.
The service even if less effectiveness on this surface, will be a problem for Monfils but I think that difference is the mental strength of Ljubicic.
The French player often has of the mental decreases and against a solid player as Ljubicic it will be a problem.
Kuznetsova destroys Azarenka Compliments to martens for Monfils

Re: Rolland Garros 2008

For today (won't be touching the men's 1/4 finals):

A speculative lay of Kuznetsova @1.12 - liab 1 pt

All in Dementieva @2.62 - 9pts
I reckon Elena will be better prepared for today's Russian clash. Dinara played loads of tennis recently (singles and doubles) and maybe the psychological pressure will be a bit too much for her. Yes, the way she battled back against Sharapova may give her wings, but I think Dementieva has better chances today and she's still my favourite for the outright win.
I'll try to take full advantage of bookies' and fellas' overreacting after Safina's win over Sharapova (who wasn't convincing since the start of RG and I don't read more on that game). Big stake for me

I don't think it's based just on Safina beating Sharapova, Engineer. Don't forget she also won the Berlin event earlier this month, beating Kanepi, Henin, Serena Williams, Azarenka and Dementieva along the way. Also, these 2 have met 3 times on clay, and Safina has won all 3 of them (albeit one through a retirement). I'd say the price looks about right to me, good luck though

Re: Rolland Garros 2008

Thought Dementieva's days of bottling it like that were behind her, she seemed to have been improving in that respect over the past year or so, but she choked big time today. A set and 5-2 up (with 2 breaks), she twice failed to serve out the set, lost it on a tie-break, and got battered 6-0 in the decider

Re: Rolland Garros 2008

Yes, another great comeback for Safina.
I have the feeling she can't play tennis without being a set and sevral games behind.

I luckily managed to lock a decent profit, but the outcome bet for Dementieva went down the drain...

Re: Rolland Garros 2008

Nadal @ 1.3 to win the final roland garros

sure bet, free money in my eyes

price looks extremely low, but fair imo, according to what both players showed

Djokovic was the second best here after nadal, but draw system protects number one,

be sure that federer will not be number one of the world in near future, even in wimbledon he will face massive difficulties to defend his title, at least 4-5 players are able to beat him in fast surfaces-nadal djokovic for sure- and then some others including Roddick, tsonga, and perhaps crazy baghdatis, after he employed "legendary" coach peter lundreng

i will wait till tomorrow evening, hope price to to rise at 1.4, and then back nadal with my maximum stakes, which in my case is 10 k euros

free money, no doupt

good luck to everybody

sorry guys, i m trying to find ways how to post in forun! looks problematic lately

first of all, thnx Nadal ! thnx great man! whole world won easy money because of you, my self included of cource

guys, i never see a player, an athlete like nadal, he is near to god!

but, coz i am human being, have to be calm and sceptical, just hope to see him playing like this for years and years, and never collapse because of any early heavy practising using medicine or whatever...

as for amagro dear friend rcgills, well, he just proved it, that he is limited tennis personality, in the match against nadal

what counts though, is the final calculation, my large bet on nadal secured me enough profiter

no complain

see you around
