Tennis 12-18 May (Men: Hamburg Masters, Women: Roma)

Not sure whether there are any other tournaments this week, if there are then I'm sure Engineer will add them to the thread title

One bet for the qualifiers in Hamburg today, Minar to beat Horna. Horna had a good run in Roma last week, but he's very much a hit and miss player (the two previous tournaments saw him lose to Zverev (who has a 28-38 record on clay) and world number 360 Arnaboldi. He struggled past world number 260 Vagnozzi in 3 sets in the first qualifying round here, losing the first set and then eventually winning on a tie-break in the deciding set.

Minar has put in some decent performances on clay this year, beating the likes of Starace and Benneteau, and taking a set off Davydenko in Estoril. No way should Horna be this big a favourite.

Lay Horna @ 1.615 to win 4pts

Re: Tennis 12-18 May (Men: Hamburg Masters, Women: Roma)

hello rcigills

all kind of upsets last week in rome, just not to mention the weeks before

to be honest, i am too much woonded after some yesterdays results in soccer, a nightmare weekend for me

but, we never lose our optimism

life continues, most important thing is to keep walking, and never allow anything to affect our financial situation, we afford to lose some money after all

i see some bankers for tomorrow first day, i will study and come back, baghdatis my favourite player is out again, but i very well understand his position as expressed by him a week ago

see you tomorrow keep smiling

Not much tennis betting for me today, will wait for several in-running bets, the only value I like is R. Pascual to beat Rodionova @2.20 - 3.5 pts.

In fact I do like one more:

Errani to beat Peng @2.04 - 5pts.

Pascual and Errani delivered nicely, today we have a good looking coupon and several great bets I hope.

Went for Penetta antepost bet in Rome @100 - 3pts.

Several more in Hamburg:

Juan Monaco @160 - 4pts - great value for me, this could be the Argie's tourney
Phillip Kohlsreiber @250 - 0.75pts
Janko Tipsarevic @150 - 0.75 pts
J.I. Chela @320 - 0.5 pts

With you on Monaco in the outrights, Engineer, and also with Zakopalova for today's game.

Lay Schnyder @ 1.51 to win 4pts
Lay Pironkova @ 1.92, liability 4pts
Monaco @ 1.69 4pts

And then an accumulator of a few short priced favourites I think should win (although I'm going against you on a couple of them )

Verdasco/Nieminen/Wawrinka/Pennetta/Kirilenko @ 3.292 - 4pts

And then 1.5pts on Monaco on the outright @ 160

Good luck for today

Re: Tennis 12-18 May (Men: Hamburg Masters, Women: Roma)

Not a good day yesterday, got lucky with some trading on the Moya - Bennetau match, so the losses weren't that big.

Great job by RC, fingers crossed for Penetta to do the bizz for you, losing the first set, though

For me today:

Tipsarevic to bea Blake @2.02 - 3 pts

Kiefer to beat Wawrinka @3.0 - 2pts

Karlovic to beat Robredo @2.44 - 1pt

lay Ivanovic 2:0 against Pironkova @1.43 0 liab 1.5 pts

Better today

But what made me feel great was Pironkova's massive victory over Ivanovic
Broke the Serbian numerous times and showed great tennis and mental sturdiness. Azarenka will have hard time in the next round.

Re: Tennis 12-18 May (Men: Hamburg Masters, Women: Roma)

sorry boys, i couldnt post the days before due to commitments

tomorrow my bankers are :

Monaco to beat Seppi

Ferrer to beat Verdasco

good luck to all

game to watch is : Nadal vs Murray

thye mythology of surfaces may end tomorrow, if murray wins over nadal, something not impossible in my eyes, but even if andy failures, that doesnt means anytrhing, perhaps spaniard is owner of clay at the moment, but nobody gives him a guarantee that he will keep this land of clay for ever

go go andy

Re: Tennis 12-18 May (Men: Hamburg Masters, Women: Roma)

Very interesting set of fixtures today, especially in the ATP event.

Tipsarevic - Montanes
The Serbian keeps impressing me, watched him against Blake yesterday and I do like his play style, some great strikes and solid defense. If he's set to face Djokovic at that moment I'd rather oppose world №3, to be honest.
Montanes is performing good in Hamburg, but I don't rate his previous opponents much. Today he'll have a tough test and I don't think Tipsi will miss that great opportunity to make the quarters and maybe more...

Verdasko - Ferrer
Ferrer's early exit in Rome wasn't unexpected, but here he has points to defend and should keep the solid performance on clay. Verdasko managed to push Ferrer to the limit in Estoril and today I see a close affair also. 1.56 for David isn't much of a value, but he's the more likely winner.
The odds for him on the outright market increased a bit, so I'll have a dabble on Ferrer @28 - 3.25 pts

Re: Tennis 12-18 May (Men: Hamburg Masters, Women: Roma)

Federrer will face Soderling and I don't think Rog will have many problems here. Maybe a bit harder than the match vs Nieminen, but still - a comfortable win for Federrer.

I'm much interested in the Monaco - Seppi game, mainly because of the antepost bet on the Argie (the biggest I've ever placed and it looks good at the moment). Hope nothing goes tits up in this one, Monaco should win it with something to spare for the next round (against Davydenko probably). Seppi isn't showing great form or something, he just tries to achieve results, but he should improve hugely to match in-form Monaco. Hope for an easy Argentinian win

Re: Tennis 12-18 May (Men: Hamburg Masters, Women: Roma)

Karlovic - Djokovic
I'd like to watch this match. Odds over 7/1 available for Big Ivo at some bookies and that price worths some interest. I'll allow myself to quote a guy from PL (big alf), I reckon his words describe best the background of that game:
"I just feel that if Ivo can bring his A service game then Djoko might decide his priorities lie elsewhere..."
100% agree, Karlovic improved a lot recently and if he's rested enough after the clash with Robredo he may well nick the 1st set and fuck knows what's in Djoko's head, less than two weeks before the French Open.

Karlovic @7.8 - 1.25 pts
Lay Djoko 2:0 @1.58 - liab 2pts
