The bastard got what he deserved from Tipsarevic that night.

And that was really unlucky for RC, the Nadal - Mathieu affair, I expected more from the French also.

Yes, fell one game short Still, that was always the risk, knew that if it was won in straight sets, I needed Mathieu to take one of them to 7-5 or 7-6, but he couldn't manage it.

Two interesting games tonight - men's 1/2 finals after another choking performance by Fed.

Berdych - Nadal 2.44 - 1.68

Roddick - Davydenko 1.49 - 2.98

Will look closer at both these games' background, but I could be fancying the outsiders here, Berdych is flying in Miami and Davydenko should be able to neutralize Roddick's serves and keep the game close.

Andy Roddick to beat Nikolay Davydenko 20pts MAX BET @ 4/9 (Ladbrokes)
As Roddick proved with his victory over Federer last night H2H records are not everything in tennis. However, when one player holds a strong record over another, the only way that is going to change is if one player is playing at a significantly higher or lower level than during past encounters. Roddick leads Davydenko 5-0 H2H (10 sets to 1, 1 incomplete). Roddick's game right now is arguably as good as ever. Davydenko's playing solidly, but probably not at the high standards of a couple of years back. Clearly Roddick has the style and the form to take this one.

Agreed Dave, although I'm gonna take the 2.32 on the 2-0 to Rod.

There's 2 questions - can Roddick replicate his awesome serving from last night v Federer? Can Davydenko replicate his superb baseline and net play from his last 2 matches.

If the first is true, then Roddick cruises this, no matter what Davy does, as Davydenko was so flaky on serve v Ancic he'll crumble under any sort of inspection, and no matter how well he's returning he'll barely get a look in on the Roddick serve.

If its not, and the 2nd is true, then Davy wins, as he'll destroy Rod from the baseline as Andy still looked very average with his groundstrokes v Fed.

Anyway, I think we'll still see some massive serving tonight, Davy lose interest fairly quickly, and the 2-0 come in.

GL to us Dave.

Roddick didn't serve well in the TB, and Davy is absolutely destroying him from the back of the court - Rod has no answer in the rallies. Rod needs to find something new here, not sure if he's got anything else in his locker tho.

Obviously not the 1st set I wanted, but I'll be shocked of Davydenko keeps up that form

Unlucky there, guys

What an owesome performance from Davydenko that was.
He's one of the players I'd never oppose at odd against and will always oppose at odd on.

But won't be touching today's men final, still I see good value in another games.

Srrebotnik/Sugiama to beat Black/Huber at the doubles final @2.20, bet365

Forcing myself to like Davydenko today at that price, but just can't. That should be a win for Nadal - he's fighting, he's chasing the ball, he's showing mental sturdiness in hard moments, maybe we'll see him winning his first title that year. But as I said i wouldn't oppose Davy, so after all I'll give a miss to that game.

The doubles bet stays- very interesting they are playing after the men's final and I'm hoping for a lucky last there, absolutely 50:50 game and I'd gladly take a price of 2.20 for the S/S double. Not too high stakes though.

Well, an absolute disaster in backing Roddick the other day! Davydenko was class, but Roddick just couldn't compete from the back of the court, and you feel that Nadal should be able to do that, so should take the win. Will probably leave alone though.

Another excellent game for the Russian, but Nadal wasn't himself yesterday, he looked tired and diffident. So, he'll have to go to the clay to win a title.

But the women's double delivered nicely in a thriller, so after all not a bad tournament that was.
