Aussie open 2008
Nalbandian?
he looks like a lorry, unstopable
what do you think guys? he won over federer and nadal TWICE within a week
he feels great anytime against federer, but i have to say that the swiss guy was out of this world in last two matches at shangai
i will back him, small amount of money-back nalbandian-

Re: Aussie open 2008
as for rafael nadal, his coach tony nadal said in a newspaper during shanghai masters, that rafa carries a serious injury -leg- as from 2005!
that makes me feels suspicious about nadal's future, just a single question to mr tony : what medicines and methods nadal used all those years to develop his muscle system? is strange isnt it? a player to reach maximum power at the age of 19!
lets see....stay away of any nadal's game, time only will prove whats happening

Re: Aussie open 2008
federer @1.65
fair price, i think is value price also, only a small miracle will prevent him to do it again
he plays better and better every year. now at the age of 26,i expect to reach his top level,he scared me in shaghai final,
my wish is to see a new winner, but i am afraid i wont
nalbandian may do something here @14, but i am too old to trust him, to see him out from early rounds wouldnt surprise me
djokovic @14 is aenigma imo, either he will remember 2007 season as dream season, or, he will fight as top of the world against everybody, lets see
rafael nadal @15
no chance imo, his mind is always how to defend the french open, probably this year failure
anyway rafa is nimber 2 of the world, and this is by no accident,i just dont rate him as favourite here, but if he makes it,no surprise for me
murray @14, still inconsistence, is not his time yet
thats for now

Re: Aussie open 2008
although i never take seriously the pre-slam tournaments, i am confident that rafael nadal has zero chances here in aussie open, he was so bad and terrible yesterday in final against youznhy,no chance
murray : impressive in some moments, an outsider not to be ignored.
at his day, he can beat anyone,
still beleive federer @1.65 is outstanding and dream price
nalbandian : his fate and destiny is decided already : to be defeated by federer if they meet, something like canas case last year, the third meeting was the crucial one, canas lost very easily

Re: Aussie open 2008
Nadal had played a nearly 4 hour game against Moya the previous day. It was the longest 3 set game in nearly 16 years so I wouldn’t read too much into his thrashing by Youznhy. I don’t think he will win the Oz Open either but I wouldn’t be writing him off based on yesterday.
You seem to have changed your mind about Federer. Last year I seemed to remember you saying he was finished .
I think 1.65 is poor value personally. The Australian Open is probably the most competitive of the Opens and there are lots of dangermen this year (Murray, Nalbandian, Djokovic and maybe even Gasqeut).
I’ll be looking for e/w value in the other ½ of the draw.

Re: Aussie open 2008
you are excactly inside my mind
here are my probabilities estimations
aussie open 2008
to win the title
Roger Federer =75%
one of -Andrew Murray, or, David Nalbandian, or Novak Djokovic- = 20%
other = 5%
i disagree about athletes and tennis players physio, all human beings recover full after 24 houirs, a professional athlete may less than 16 hours
there isnt any matter of tireness in professional sports, i just remind you that roger federer played his best game of season in november, shanghai final against that impressive spaniard ferrer, roger was the best ever
i didnt change mind about federer, i just hope to see a new winner, i am afraid i wont
at the age of 26, i expect him to reach his top level
c u wittmann
about nalbandian : i think is more of psychological time candidate winner than real time, many people been affected by his two wins over federer within 15 days, but, do you remember canas last year in america?

Re: Aussie open 2008
Looks like Federer suffers from gastric desease (virus) and has refused to take part in that week tournament AAMI Classic.
He's took some day off and hopes to resume training in the second half of the week.
This shouldn't be a big problem for Fed certainly, but let's see what's gonna happen there.

Re: Aussie open 2008
and nalbandian "injury" forced him to withdraw from the exhibition classic
i think bandy is too much pressured and stressfull
and now Safin???
why not
hehe, betting is such a complicated job after all

Re: Aussie open 2008
according to my experience after so many years in business, to back,or whatever, i mean to bet in normal bookies : federer to win the title @1.6 is like to bet against bookies, only a miracle will stop you to earn money, if miracle comes, then comes! a comet comes? then comes, but i dont think so
to bet on nalbandian, is like a suicide action imo, he is fully stressed, and as i said, most probable scenario is to see him out from early rounds
i will place large single bet on this event, wait to see his health and fitness

Re: Aussie open 2008
second quarter is the strongest in my eyes
nalbandian is there, djokovic is there, and impressive baghdatis is there( i watched him last night against gonzo)
i think nalbandian has very difficult task, i give him near zero chances to syrvive
federer : first match against hartfield! my mind goes back in french open 2006, again first match against hartfield! the argentine was very competitive, he lost the first set only on tie break, but my point is other :
federer DIDNT win the title, lost to nadal in final quite easily
so, this bad sign for federer, astrological sign!
therefore my idea is cancelled
i prefer to enjoy the games, and bet on specific matches
federer to win the title ? NO BET
NOT FOR ANY REAL REASON, just the astrological sign!!
have fun everybody

Re: Aussie open 2008
I think that Federer will come up short this year – he has not played competitively since November and ever year previously for the last 5 years he has played in either Doha or Kooyong and sometimes both. His preparation is not good. The main plus in his favour is that his draw looks reasonably alright and he should be able to ease himself into things somewhat. I still think there will be a changing of the guard this year.
Second quarter definitely looks tough.

Absolute piffle Wittmann. You know full well that if Federer doesn't win this it will be due to the new moon in Pisces. Stop misleading people with all this crazy talk of "preparation". Preparation is pointless, if the stars are against you and the sun's near Uranus then you're going to get burnt. Obviously
