Davis Cup
Russia-Germany
Iīve watched the German Davis cup efforts for a couple of years now and one thing that always impressed me was how the team got the best out of the players they had available. They seem to be a well coordinated team with bags of confidence and great spirit.
Except when Haas is in the team. I have to say that. He does have a decent Davis Cup record, true, but I reckon they could have started without him on this surface and brought almost anyone else in. He looked yesterday like a man wading through rice pudding in his wellies and was soundly spanked by an Andreev who didnīt really have to produce anything special. Besides, the Haas passport might say heīs German but heīs not really, is he? His committment to Germany always looks a tad suspect for my money.
However, I think this German doubles team might produce a surprise this afternoon.
Youhzny\Tursunov- Petzcher\Waske might look lop-sided but at 3,10 Iīll have a small stake on the Deutchers. (just started)
Given 2-1 in favour Germany later today, this tie will probably go to the 5th rubber between Andreev-Kohlschreiber.
Could be interesting.
