I agree about Kohlsreiber.
ohh I saw Baker rene, he plays against Peya. Baker has 31-26 and Peya 51-29 this year. Peya is in better form but for me NO BET here.

They played yesterday, Bulit, Baker won. Rene tipped him to win, but combined him in a double with Verdasco rather than taking him as a single.

1 more from London.

MOnfils - ANdreev

The young Frenchman MOnfils looks underpriced here. His big serve will offer cheap points here and his flat heavy forehand style is suited to grass. Andreev is no mug on this surface. This looks like a very close game but Monfils serve should be the decider.

1.5 Units Monfils @ Evens (Extrabet)

Re: Tennis 11-18/6/2007 (ATP Halle & Queens, WTA Birmingham & Barcelona Clay)

What I fancy today is K. Vliegen to beat Nieminen and I like bet365's 2.00. (what the f..k is happening with betfair - currently unavailable, hope it won't be the whole day).
This game could go both ways, but I always like oposing Nieminen when facing decent players - he rarely lets me down. So, it's: Vliegen 2/10

BTW, that bookie BETCHANCE offers really good prices for tennis... Is anyone familiar with them?

Betfair is down for maintenance, Engineer, when you try to connect to Betfair, it gives a message saying they're unavailable, and it has a link for more details. Seems they *should* be back by 11am BST, which I think is midday central European time.

Re: Tennis 11-18/6/2007 (ATP Halle & Queens, WTA Birmingham & Barcelona Clay)

Well, either Betfair's maintenance finished ahead of schedule or my knowledge of time zones around the world is way off Either way, they're back now.

Quick post to start with as this match starts in 5 mins, back afterwards with more.

Lay Gasquet 2-0 v Qureshi @ 1.25, liability 0.4pts

Very speculative one, this, but Qureshi seems to play a hell of a lot on grass, 11-5 for the past year and 55-38 overall. Played Surbiton last week, and has come through 3 qualifying rounds here at Halle, winning the last 2 of them in straight sets, all 4 sets on tiebreaks. That would suggest to me that he has a decent serve, and while Gasquet is a very good grass court player, with this being his first grass tournament of the year, he may take a little while to get into the swing of things. He shouldn't have any problems to win the match, but I'm fairly hopeful Qureshi may at least be able to force a tie-break and give himself a chance to nick a set here.

Re: Tennis 11-18/6/2007 (ATP Halle & Queens, WTA Birmingham & Barcelona Clay)

Nieminen to beat Vliegen @ evens 2pts

I'm going to go against Engineer and side with Nieminen to beat Vliegen. Should be a pretty close match, but Nieminen is the player in better form of late, and Vliegen has lost more matches than he's played on grass (7-10).

Melzer to beat Davydenko @ 1.82 1pt

Davydenko has a truly terrible grass court record, 1-11, with defeats to the likes of Falla, Wang and Childs. A record like that can't be overlooked, and Melzer's a capable enough grass court player.

For Karlovic v Fish, the price on Fish looks pretty tempting to me, I have to say. However, given what Wittmann says about Fish maybe being injured, I'm going to reluctantly avoid this one.

Gallovits to beat Ruano Pascual @ 2.1 2pts

This one on the clay in Barcelona, and Gallovits has a superb record on clay this season, with 2 titles already under her belt, which have seen her break into the top 100 (and above Ruano Pascual) in the rankings. She's 29-12 overall for the year, 20-5 on clay (against 7-9 overall for Ruano Pascual, 6-6 on clay). Ruano Pascual has lost to players outside the top 200 in her last 2 matches.

Great start RCGills . Thought he had blown it. Gasquet backed at 1.04 and below. Will be some sweaty arsed people right now

Re: Tennis 11-18/6/2007 (ATP Halle & Queens, WTA Birmingham & Barcelona Clay)

Yeah, I thought he was going to blow it too. Serving 4-2 up and he saved 0-40 to hold, then serving for the set at 5-3 he was broken. Then in the tie-break he kept getting the mini-break and then handing it straight back. Still, he hung on in the end, and after yesterday's wipeout, I needed that

I see he's now a break up in the 2nd too . Thought he stood a chance of taking a set, didn't think he'd have much chance of winning it though. Certainly will be some people sweating on that one now. Hope Bulit's not one of them

Dammit, there was 2.1 at Betfair at the time I wrote that. However, as my Betfair account was running low, I decided to leave it a while, wait for the potential (at the time) winnings on the Gasquet match and maybe also see what price Sporting Odds had too as their prices were just starting to come out in the womens events. By the time I came back to it, Sporting Odds had Gallovits priced at 1.66, and the Betfair price had dropped to 1.93 Still think that's a decent price, so have taken that, but annoying that I could've had 2.1 a couple of hours earlier. Price still dropping now, mind you, down to 1.89 at the moment.

Gallovits to beat Ruano Pascual @ 1.93 2pts (correction of odds)

Agree with you there Wittmann on the young Monfills, but I would be laying Tim Henman to beat the young Croatian Marin Cilic by 2-0. The price looks good and have read elsewhere that the British veteran suffered a stomach virus yesterday. (However I have yet to confirm the truth in the post.) The connection from where I now is extremely bad and have difficulty even to stay connected.

Re: Tennis 11-18/6/2007 (ATP Halle & Queens, WTA Birmingham & Barcelona Clay)

One more for this afternoon, this time from Birmingham.

Lay Molik v Bremond @ 1.53, liability 1.5pts

Can't see why Molik should be such a clear favourite here, presumably it's in part due to the fact that Bremond has won just 2 of her last 14 matches. However, the majority of those have been on clay, which doesn't seem to be her surface. She's got a very decent record on grass though - last year at Wimbledon, she came through the qualifiers, beat Schnyder in the 2nd round and made it to the QF before losing 6-4 6-4 to Henin. On her day, Molik is capable of getting results on grass, but she's lost in the 1st round on 3 of her last 4 visits to Birmingham, and I don't think she should be such a big favourite here.

Henman should give up . I'm the worse fool for trusting him. Laid off my stake whith him when he traded at 1.06 but that is simply a terrible performance by him on his best surface. Go join Rusedski Tim. Been nice while it lasted.

Re: Tennis 11-18/6/2007 (ATP Halle & Queens, WTA Birmingham & Barcelona Clay)

One woman’s selection in the late start in Barcelona:

Arn-Dominguez-Lino

Lino having a terrible 2007. She has lost to Kanepi, Sprem and Crybas in her lost 3 all when as a strong favourite. She did beat Arn in her one purple patch but has lost to some real no hopers recently. Arn came through qualification here and won in Portugal back in April on clay. She is 28-7 on clay this year (Lino is 9-10) and no way should she be an underdog here.

1.75 Units Arn @ 2.18
