Miryni seems to be serving well. Looks like you're the voice of reason today Jacky

Re: Tennis 11-18/6/2007 (ATP Halle & Queens, WTA Birmingham & Barcelona Clay)
I know it might not seem the most tactical way of thinking, but I hate to back against Mirnyi because he is so irritating in the way he plays. Serve-volley, serve volley, serve volley, serve volley time and time again and it needs a good player to a) return the serve, and b) pull of a passing shot.

There it is, Mirnyi broke Verdasco 3 times in a row in that second set and won it pretty comfortably in the end. Well done Jacky.

Baker won but Verdasco can´t handle Mirnyi. I overrate him - Mirnyis serves on grass are good enough to beat the spanish boy ..

Re: Tennis 11-18/6/2007 (ATP Halle & Queens, WTA Birmingham & Barcelona Clay)
baghdatis v soderling
pick : SODERLING @2.6
reason: i watched bagh last game against andreev, his first serve was awful, something like 25-30 %, here is grass, we all understand how important is to serve very well, to finish the points asap, meaning "serve and volley" as we used to say, soderling was impressive today, very strong and efficient serve, bagh was playing again with almost second serve,i think the swedish will punish him, besides h2h proves that bagh doesnt have solutions against aggressive game by robin
grass suits more on bagh game, that obvious to us, he moves better and he hits the ball faster and better, but his weak first serve might punish him, soderling is the ideal candidate to pay the very attractive price of 2.6
small stakes, cya

Re: Tennis 11-18/6/2007 (ATP Halle & Queens, WTA Birmingham & Barcelona Clay)
few words about roland garros finals :
horrible both, men and women finals, ivanovic and federer didnt show any reason to support their presence in finals, both totally crappy, i can not understand the way the number one of the world behaved with 60 unforced errors, totally crappy and disappointing, as for ivanovic, women are women, but really she played like a stupid, i said that i dont watch women tennis, thats was final sorry, june, no soccer options, i was obliged to watch, and i proved to be correct : watch women tennis is waste your time

Re: Tennis 11-18/6/2007 (ATP Halle & Queens, WTA Birmingham & Barcelona Clay)
What a great offer for us. 4 tournaments and very nice matches here. No single tommorow but few doubles and triples could make me some profit tommorow.
Kristian Pless (DEN) 2.78 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 1.33
Hmm Tsonga! My favourite player for challengers. This is his first chance on big tournament. He won 4 matches only for two days.
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga Alejandro Falla 6-3 7-6(2)
Grass Jo-Wilfried Tsonga Jim May 6-3 6-4
Grass Jo-Wilfried Tsonga Frederic Niemeyer 5-7 6-3 6-2
and after that he beat Karlovic in final 6:3 7:6
Great and very strong player from France have a chance to make the best result in careere and I think he will win here.
On the other side is Pless who isn't in some good form this year (5W-12L) and he is litlle better ranked than Tsonga but here that don't means nothing.
Tsonga to beat Pless
2:45 PM Janko Tipsarevic (SRB) 1.21 Dusan Vemic 3.50
Two players from Serbia and sparing partners from before. They played last week on French Open and Tipsarevic won. Also he beat Safin which is showing great form for Tipsarevic. Vemic has playing clay court tournaments and he isn't so good on grass. I think Tipsarevic will win this easy.
Tipsarevic to beat Vemic
Later I'll post some more matches I don't have time now

Re: Tennis 11-18/6/2007 (ATP Halle & Queens, WTA Birmingham & Barcelona Clay)
A juicier looking coupon tomorrow in both Halle and in London. Firstly London
A double from Stella Artois to start with:
Grosjean-Henman 2 Units @ 1.47 (Pinnacle)
Grosean meets Berrer and Timmy meets Cilic. Despite what you may think of Henman he is still a class act on grass. In an era without Hewitt and Federer he would have won Wimbeldon at least once. He has a great record here (3 Finals, 2 SFs including last year). Cilic has played little on clay and I don’t think he has the guile or weapons to beat Henman here. Ditto Berrer against Grosjean who is an excellent serve and volley specialist and who has good form here as well.
Kendrick-Gulbis
I don’t usually like opposing decent carpet players like Gulbis on grass against weak opponents but I’m going to make an exception here in Gulbis’s case. He took the biggest scalp of his career in Roland Garros when putting Henman out without breaking sweat. He also has some decent results on fast carpet. This is however his first match on grass and he meets a player who has already acclimatised in Surbiton to the surface and who is in the top 30 stats of aces per game on the tour. Kednrick is having a good 2007 with wins on the Challenger circuit on both clay (Naples) and hardcourt (Dallas). Kendrick made the SF in Surbiton where he was put out by Croatian giant and ace machine Karlovic. His claim to fame is probably taking Nadal to 5 in Wimbeldon last year. Gulbis is lightweight in the serve and it’s a big ask to see him winning a first game on clay against a player who will be firing serves at high speed at him here.
2 Units Kendrick @ 1.53 (William Hill)
Karlovic-Fish
Having been royally fcuked by big Ivo Karlovic in the French Open (my third biggest bet burning on him) I’m slightly reluctant to give him another chance but I do thin k he has a good chance here given his run to the final in Surbiton on grass and the incredible succession of aces he bombed down there. He leads Fish 3-1 (all very tight) but Fish is a shadow of the player he was then and has been suffering from a succession of injuries that have seen him plummet down the rankings in 2006 only to rebound with some good results at the start of 2006. He has warmed up for this by losing in the doubles with Delic and there are rumours he is carrying a foot inury. Of the 12 sets the two have played an incredible 7 have gone to tiebreaks so if there is a total games market on this I would be getting long of it. This will be an ugly game of tennis. A 3 setter looks a good call.
0.5 Units Fish 2-1 @ 5.6
0.5 Units Karlovic 2-1 @ 4.1
Delic-Serra
2 players with little in the way of grass pedigree between them in similar form – Delic has played doubles here with Fish and has a very strong serve that looks suited towards grass but the 7-9 record on the surface leaves a lot to be desired and at a best priced 1.66 I can leave Delic. A definite no better

Tsonga is 1.44 and Tipsarevic 1.36 on Betfair Bulit and there are much better prices even with the bookies than what you have there.

Re: Tennis 11-18/6/2007 (ATP Halle & Queens, WTA Birmingham & Barcelona Clay)
From Halle
Moodie-Santoro
Santoro is with Zimnoic probably concentrating mainly on the doubles here as they defend the title they won last year and get ready to better their losing appearance at Wimbledon last year. Santor made the final here in 2001 and his tricky game full of spin and slice is pretty effective on grass. He is up against the big serving South African who blasted his way through qualifying only dropping a single break in 3 qualifiers. Moodie is useful on grass and although Santoro beat home on carpet in 2 sets back in late 2006 this is probably Moodies best surface with appearances in 4 minor grass finals to his name. Evens would probably be about right.
Lay Santoro @ 1.77 (1.25 Units Risked)
Sluiter-Kohlsreiber
Kohlsreiber is at home but he is facing a player who has played 3 qualifying games and who has some decent form on grass in his career. The change in surface will surely play a part here and Sluiter has a big serve that should do enough to keep him at least competitive.
Lay Kohlsreiber @ 1.35 (0.75 Units Risked)
0.25 Units Kohlsreiber 2-1 @ anything over 4.1
A double as well
2 Units Nalbandian-Mayer @ 1.47
Mayer takes on fellow countryman and wildcard Kohlmann who back from injury plays only his third match of the year – his last outing was a defeat to a player ranked 408 in the world. Mayer made Wimbeldon QF in 2004 and the 3rd round in 2005 and is fresh from a final appearance on clay in a Czech challenger. Kohlmann is a doubles man and is making up the numbers here. Nalbandian is carrying a lot of extra weight but he is a class act on the green stuff and against a player who has played 3 games on the surface since 2002 and who isn’t that great to begin with quotes around 1.20 look fair to me.
