Re: French Open - 3rd Round On Selections Here

Had another fit of the Zabaletas and stuck another 3 Points on Dementieva at 1.49. Going to pop out to the boozer to watch this one. Bartoli’s Slam record is abysmal. Never beyond a third round in 23 starts which is pretty poor. Dementieva has been here before – she’s very popular in RG as well. She’s a fluent French speaker and I’ll always remember how well her gracious loser’s speech in the 2004 finals was received. I don’t think the crowd will be a major factor even if the game is on the second court prestige wise.

Venus had a good effort to take a set for me but too many unforced errors cost her. Still nice little profit on the Amazonian

Re Lube. I would probably back him at 1.72 where he has drifted on Betfair but I’m committed now on Volandri at 2.50 so I’m going to let this ride. Volandri is muck on carpet and hardcourt (he says to convince himself). He’s never convinced at RG but neither did the Lube and in his SF run last year the only player of note claywise that he beat was Monaco and he needed sets for that.

Mathieu seems to be making heavy weather of beating Simon. Need another short priced loser like a hole in the head.

I'm not saying that Ljubicic isn't a good player on clay, I'm just saying that looking at the H2H here doesn't really give you much of an idea, because they were played on surfaces where Ljubicic had a huge advantage. On clay it may well be more of an even match. We'll see anyway.

Not looking good for Ferrero. Sat down to watch a bit of the match with Ferrero a break up at 2-1 in the third set, at which point he promptly lost the next 5 games. 2-1 down now on sets and Youzhny looking pretty impressive. Hard to see Ferrero making his way back into this one now.

One more bet in running - a lay of Davydenko @ 1.1, liability 0.5pts (current score 2-1 Llodra in first set). Don't trust Davydenko, and think Llodra is over-priced. Will look to trade if Llodra gets off to a good start.

Why everybody talk about Tipsarevic? Do you really think that he can beat Robredo? I don't think so and I already have Robredo on few combos for today.
The best from Tipsarevic is to take one set but even that is not sure for me. I have First set 10 gems @3.4 for low stake and big money is on Robredo

Safina can make good result today and I have her on under 21 @1.85.
For over 21 gems we need 3 sets and I think that Safina will win 2-0. Also low stake

Re: French Open - 3rd Round On Selections Here

At last, a day in profit for me Bammer, Bartoli and Mathieu all won, Ferrero and Llodra lost.

Men
Staked: 29.6pts
Returned: 24.23pts
P/L: -5.37pts

Women
Staked: 16pts
Returned: 20.82pts
P/L: +4.82pts

Overall: -0.55pts

Did you get that correct score on Canas matched, Wittmann?

I've not long woken up, Rene, and missed the first set of most matches :wasntme Have just laid Kuznetsova @ 1.05 for a liability of 0.4pts. Looking into the later matches now.

Re: French Open - 3rd Round On Selections Here

it is interesting to read your ideas, and thanks to all

here is mine

baghdatis @1.15 to beat hajek

sinse murray is not here due to injury, baghdatis is my next favorite player,i watched him against grojhean, and i am impressed of the intelligent game he did.all his shots were very well prepared, and perfectly targeting,he was astonishing in some moments, reminding me the big wimbledon last year.(not watched the match against pless)

the guy plays tennis in an intelligent way, and i think is the only one here in roland garros showing new elements of the sport

i go with him with maximum stakes, and i also expect him to meet andreev in next round, probably the most interesting clash of the whole tourny, andreev has to beat mathieu, not easy task though, but the russian clearly the most talented here

see you around, have a nice day all

Re: French Open - 3rd Round On Selections Here

Two more bets:

Hewitt v Nieminen over 36.5 games @ 1.833 3pts

Hewitt is favourite, but can see Nieminen making it difficult for him. 4 sets gives this bet a decent chance of coming in, 5 sets virtually guarantees it.

Lay Hernandez 3-0 v Bjorkman @ 2.36, liability 2.5pts

Hernandez should win this one, but Bjorkman is proving tough to beat in this competition, winning 5-setters in both of the first two rounds. Don't think he'll win this one, but can see him getting a set.

Re: French Open - 3rd Round On Selections Here

Already backed Medina Garrigues against Hantuhova. Although her good performance recently I don't think this wiil be Daniela's day. Very tough opponent and being under pressure she'll make plenty of errors imo... The stakes are small yet...

Re: French Open - 3rd Round On Selections Here

And took Mauresmo after losing the first set, I think she'll see Safarova off now. In fact I've backed her for outright winner at @17. I stilll believe that could happen.
