www.help2bet.net

As some of you will (hopefully!) know, Help2Bet.net has been running since August 2003, and doing OK usually. I am actually pretty disappointed with the results (click to see) , as I haven't done as well as I personally did before I launched the site. As I write this though, the yield is over 9%. Hopefully I can improve on this over time. This is still a lot better than most other tipsters specialising mainly in football

All of the results are proofed to Joe's Football Data site, and have been since the site was launched, so all of the results are genuine and above board

It is a subscription-based service, much cheaper than most others offering a similar service, but I am offering June 2005 and July 2005 for free, as most of my recommended bets are on UK football. As a result there won't be many bets over the summer months, although there is a fair bit of cricket to be played. I've not lost a bet on cricket so far this season. The bets are available to anyone via e-mail as a free trial over this period, and will also be available on the website. If you wish to sign up to receive email bet alerts, click here.

I'll post all of my bets until the end of July in this thread and will keep a running total for anyone following it. However, I am going on holiday on Wednesday. I'll be away from 1st June-22nd June. I'm posting this up now because there are some cricket matches that I may be betting on starting on Wednesday. Any bets for those will be posted up on Tuesday.

Any questions, comments are more than welcome. Post them up here or email me to support@help2bet.net.

Good luck to all, and I hope I manage to do OK this summer on here

Re: www.help2bet.net

OK first bet for June:

5pts Sussex / Essex @ 1.94 Canbet
1.89 Totalbet, UK Betting, Betinternet

As usual, the best 3 prices at the time of writing are quoted (unless otherwise stated). Links to all of these bookmakers can be found at the www.help2bet.net homepage. Any further questions or comments you may have regarding these bets can be e-mailed to support@help2bet.net . We will try our best to answer any queries before kick-off. For any new members, the staking plan uses a scale of 0-20 points, with 20 being a (rarely advised) maximum bet. We recommend a starting bank of around 200 points.

Glamorgan v Sussex (Cricket County Championship Division One)
Glamorgan are missing their two England bowlers, Wharf and Jones, for this game. They have managed to lose all five County Championship games so far this season, with not much sign of improvement over the course of the season. Glamorgan have signed Ganguly to boost their batting, but when last playing for India his form was very poor, so it is doubtful if he will be able to make much difference. Sussex have been on a pretty decent run of form, and certainly go into this game with a much stronger bowling attack than Glamorgan. This will give them a good chance to win against a team bound to be low on confidence.

Essex v Derbyshire (Cricket County Championship Division Two)
Essex are a very good batting team, as they certainly proved against Yorkshire in their last County Championship match. Even though they were not able to win, the Essex batsmen look to be mostly in very good form. They play Derbyshire here, without doubt the worst team in the league. Derbyshire will struggle to win any games this season in the County Championship, so despite the low odds, Essex represent a pretty good bet. Again this is Draw No Bet, so the only way to lose is if Derbyshire can pull off an extremely unlikely victory. Essex are still without Napier and Tudor, which does weaken their bowling, but it looks as if the worst possible result for them here is a draw, in which case the bet on them is void.

Summary: These matches start at approximately 11am UK time on Wednesday, so bets must be placed before then, although some bookmakers do suspend betting up to an hour before this time. Both matches are Draw No Bet (DNB), and will be treated as void if drawn. This is possible, especially if there is some rain over the four days of the matches. If one but not the other match is drawn, the bet becomes a single on the other team. Both Sussex and Essex look unlikely to lose, so in the Draw No Bet market, these seem good teams to bet on here. Both matches last for four days and will be settled on Saturday.

Please also note that there will be no further bets before 22nd June.

Best of luck with any bets you decide to place,

Help2Bet.net

Re: www.help2bet.net

Thanks Komp, much appreciated

Just getting my suitcase all packed to go on holiday, so won't be able to post for 3 weeks, but hopefully this bet will win. Been doing OK recently, no doubt as soon as I post a couple of bets up on here, will do badly and look a bit daft. Hope not anyway

Re: www.help2bet.net

Both of those cricket matches were drawn, which the bookmakers treat as a void bet. With stakes being refunded, the total stakes and returns are still zero in this case.

Re: www.help2bet.net

OK first bets in a while A couple of football season bets. Below is the email I just sent out.

Greetings from Help2Bet.net . Here are two early football bets for the upcoming season.

Recommended bets:

6pts Manchester United to beat Liverpool - Season Head to Head To finish highest @ 1.45 Canbet
1.28 Betinternet

5pts Reading to beat Hull – Season match bet (The Championship)
@ 1.83 Blue Square

As usual, the best 3 prices at the time of writing are quoted (unless otherwise stated). Links to all of these bookmakers can be found at the www.help2bet.net homepage. Any further questions or comments you may have regarding these bets can be e-mailed to support@help2bet.net . We will try our best to answer any queries before kick-off. For any new members, the staking plan uses a scale of 0-20 points, with 20 being a (rarely advised) maximum bet. We recommend a starting bank of around 200 points.

Premiership 2005/06
An early bet worth taking is Manchester United to finish above Liverpool. Only a couple of bookmakers are offering this, with Canbet having far and away the highest odds. It would seem to be a good bet at all the way down to around 1.15, but 1.45 is a price not to be missed. Liverpool have made a lot of changes again this season, and players will take time to settle, especially those brought in from abroad. Manchester United finished 19 points ahead of Liverpool last season, and have a very settled squad. They have moved to fix their problem goalkeeping position by signing van der Sar, which can only help. Liverpool had big problems with their away form last season, and it just seem extremely unlikely that they will bridge a 19 point gap in one season. Liverpool have much less chance of finishing ahead of Manchester United than these odds indicate.

The Championship 2005/06
Hull and Reading are two similar clubs. They have both fairly recently moved to new stadiums and both have generous chairmen who have helped fund their clubs in recent years. This is where the similarity ends though. Hull have been promoted in successive seasons and still base a lot of their squad on players who were playing two divisions lower just two seasons ago. They have signed a few new players for this season, but none of whom will frighten teams at this level. Reading are a very well established club at this level and have just spent £1 million on Lita, a potentially very good player. Reading also may be prepared to spend big again, after they just missed out on the play-offs last season. Hull are pretty unlikely to get relegated this season, but it is also pretty unlikely that they will be challenging the top six. They do not deserve to be joint favourites in this season bet market with Reading. Reading have to be the bet.

Summary: These are the first bets in several weeks. Possible bets have been considered over the past few weeks, but none were worth taking. These football season bets need to be placed as soon as possible to avoid missing out on the best odds. The Manchester United one especially will see the odds tumble very quickly if a lot of people start betting on it as it is only being offered by two bookmakers. The Canbet odds are the only ones really worth taking, and they may react quickly if they start taking a lot of bets on it. The other bet probably will not see the odds fall quite so fast, but again there is no guarantee that these odds will be available in 24 hours. This is always a problem with special bets only offered by one or two bookmakers, but these are good bets so they have to be advised. Please ensure you move quickly if you intend to place them.

There will probably more bets over the next couple of weeks before the Scottish football season starts, so please check your email.

Best of luck with any bets you decide to place,

Re: www.help2bet.net

Next set of bets. Bit late in the day to post this, but matches don't start until mid-morning. Apologies if any odds have dropped, but I sent out the following email a little while ago.

*
Recommended bets:

6pts Nottinghamshire @ 2.10 Betdirect, Blue Square, Canbet, Coral, Paddy Power, William Hill

5pts Sussex @ 1.83 Betinternet
1.80 Canbet
1.73 Coral, William Hill, Victor Chandler

5pts Worcestershire @ 1.73 Totesport
1.67 Canbet, Blue Square

1pt Nottinghamshire / Sussex / Worcestershire
@ 6.31 Canbet
6.27 Totesport
6.05 Blue Square

As usual, the best 3 prices at the time of writing are quoted (unless otherwise stated). Links to all of these bookmakers can be found at the www.help2bet.net homepage. Any further questions or comments you may have regarding these bets can be e-mailed to support@help2bet.net . We will try our best to answer any queries before kick-off. For any new members, the staking plan uses a scale of 0-20 points, with 20 being a (rarely advised) maximum bet. We recommend a starting bank of around 200 points.

Warwickshire v Nottinghamshire (Cricket County Championship Division One)
Warwickshire are affected by players being on international duty (Bell and Giles) and also being injured (Streak). Nottinghamshire are able to recall Sidebottom, which strengthens their bowling attack. Both sides have strong batting line-ups, but with Streak and Giles absent for Warwickshire, this give Nottinghamshire an edge in this game, and they certainly do not deserve to be underdogs.

Hampshire v Sussex (Cricket County Championship Division One)
Hampshire are missing players due to the Ashes series (Pietersen, Warne and Tremlett) , while Sussex are pretty much unaffected by international call-ups. After a bit of a slow start to the season, Sussex have done pretty well recently, and can take advantage of Hampshire and their slightly weakened team here.

Northamptonshire v Worcestershire (Cricket County Championship Division Two)
Northamptonshire have yet to win in the County Championship this season and look unlikely to do so here. Their bowling is pretty weak, and as a result they will struggle to bowl Worcestershire out twice. Worcestershire have had their own problems at times, but do look a much stronger side. In Ali, Mason, Akhtar and Batty, they have a very decent bowling attack. The return of Solanki from England duty will give them a boost also.

Summary: These matches start at approximately 11am UK time on Wednesday, so bets must be placed before then, although some bookmakers do suspend betting up to an hour before this time. All three matches are Draw No Bet (DNB), and will be treated as void if drawn. This is possible if there is some rain over the four days of the matches. Confidence is pretty high in all three selections, with each of their opponents looking to be struggling for good bowlers. This should hopefully mean at the very least each team we are betting on does not lose the game.

Best of luck with any bets you decide to place,

Re: www.help2bet.net

Good luck if you do Beanie. I've not lost a bet on the County Championship this season, hope that continues. Draw No Bet is good, as if the weather ruins it, and it ends a draw, it's void and you get your money back.

I don't usually bet on so many at once, but all seemed good to me

Re: www.help2bet.net

Cricket bets for tomorrow. Back with any Ashes ones later tonight. I'll updated the results when any of these are settled!

Recommended bets:

20pts Nottinghamshire @ 1.17 Stan James

4pts Nottinghamshire / Hampshire** @ 2.57 Stan James

** = this bet should only be placed if you followed our advice yesterday to bet on Sussex!!

Nottinghamshire totally dominated the first day of play here on a good batting pitch. They go into day two not many runs behind with 8 wickets in hand. Everything points to Nottinghamshire getting a big first innings lead against a weak bowling attack. Warwickshire made a good start to their innings but fell away completely. Nottinghamshire have enough good batsmen to make at the very least 350, which should set up a straightforward win. At the very least they should draw this game, so this looks almost like a free bet, with little risk of losing since the market is Draw No Bet.

Hampshire v Sussex (Cricket County Championship Division One)
Hampshire were in a lot of trouble at 102/6 today, but recovered to end the day on 293/7, which is a decent score at the Rose Bowl. Sussex were not quite able to finish them off and may end up regretting this. As a result, it is time to hedge our bets and back Hampshire at the fairly generous odds available at Stan James. The team batting first has won every County Championship match on this ground this season, so there is no need to let the original bet ride. With Tremlett available to play for Hampshire in the rest of this match after being released from England duty, Sussex have their work cut out to win.

Summary: These bets are only offered by Stan James. They are found in the cricket section of their website, under the County Championship matches (revised) part. Unfortunately Sussex were unable to continue their good start today, so it is best to take the escape route offered from this bet by Stan James. PLEASE DO NOT PLACE THE SECOND BET IF YOU DID NOT BET ON SUSSEX ORIGINALLY!! At the same time, Nottinghamshire look totally in command against Warwickshire, so it should pay off to back them again with maximum stakes. It is really hard to see Warwickshire even coming close to winning that match. These matches resume tomorrow morning at approximately 11pm UK time. The odds may not last though since only one bookmaker is offering them, so take the bets early if you intend to.
The final thing is to say that any bets on the Ashes cricket (England v Australia) will be sent by tonight at midnight (UK time). If no email is received by then, please assume that there are no bets on this at the current time.

Re: www.help2bet.net

Final cricket bet for now.

Recommended bets:

1pt AC Gilchrist - Player to score fastest hundred in the series @ 5.00 Bet365

As usual, the best 3 prices at the time of writing are quoted (unless otherwise stated). Links to all of these bookmakers can be found at the www.help2bet.net homepage. Any further questions or comments you may have regarding these bets can be e-mailed to support@help2bet.net . We will try our best to answer any queries before kick-off. For any new members, the staking plan uses a scale of 0-20 points, with 20 being a (rarely advised) maximum bet. We recommend a starting bank of around 200 points.

England v Australia (Cricket: Ashes series)
The bookmakers seem to have most of the outright markets correctly priced here. Gilchrist, probably the most destructive batsmen in the world, to score the fastest hundred in the series, seems to be priced a little too high. This is more a hunch than anything else, but if he scores a hundred in the series, it is likely to be scored very quickly. Gilchrist may even score several hundreds, which makes this bet even more likely to win.

Summary: Small stakes are advised for this bet due to its unpredictable nature, but it does seem a reasonable bet. There will be no more outright bets on this England v Australia series at the moment. There may be some more bets at some point during the series though, so check your email regularly just in case. This series begins at approximately 11pm UK time on Thursday, with the series finishing in September.

Re: www.help2bet.net

Bets for tomorrow.

Recommended bets:

10pts Essex (Cricket County Championship Division Two - to beat Lancashire) @ 1.50 Stan James

5pts Essex / Kent (Cricket County Championship Division One - to beat Surrey) @ 1.88

Summary: No analysis today, just trying to get this email sent before the odds fall. The price on Essex seems to be a massive mistake. It should be much lower, so please place this bet as soon as possible to avoid missing out on the available odds. Kent seem in a no lose position, so it is worth adding them to Essex in a second bet.
