My trips to the bookies

Im going to post all my bets that I do at the local bookies. Just to keep a track on my progress, and see if I am actually making money. I`ll mainly be using Corals as its a bit closer than Hills and im a lazy fucker! I can/will use Hills if the odds are better, but I like doing the specials, like jockey challenges etc and Hills dont do them. I`ll try to give reasoning behind my bets and wont be betting everyday.

So lets get the ball rolling. Ive started today, so nipped in on the way home from work, and the jockey specials and meeting specials were at meetings that arent on ATR, and there wasnt anything that stood out.

I looked at the enhanced treble of Kuznetsova/Wickmayer/Schiavone @ evens, just because looking at the best available odds at the other bookies the treble paid around 8/13. But they all start at the same time, and I dont think ive ever won anything on womens tennis. Also they start at 4:45, which is my busiest part of the day so it just wasnt worth the hassle even if it was standout value! I also liked the look of Spain U21 to win to nil vs Belarus U21 but neither hills nor corals had the market available in the shops!

So ive settled on a treble

Pink Saphire 2:10 Salisbury @ SP
This was odds on on debut to bt horses who have gone on to win and run very well at royal ascot. He was very green beforehand, played up no end, and was left at the start, and still managed to run 4th. He still holds group 1 entries at the end of the season, and this race looks there for the taking. Ive taken SP as the early 2/5 wasnt comparable with the 4/7 at Betfair, but having just checked now he`s into 1/2, nearing 4/9, so im hoping he doesnt go lower than the 2/5 I could have had.

Mundana 3:15 Salisbury @ 2/5
I cant watch or even listen to this race as its school run time BUT the 2/5 was good compared to elsewhere, and the 4/11 at betfair suggests he may well start a good bit shorter. Should have won at Goodwood on debut, and will look to take this uncompetitive maiden on route to better things.

Spain U21 to bt Belarus U21 @ 1/5
Belarus have been outsiders in every game theyve played, and have been nothing if not defensively sound. But this would have been a major achievement and this is a bridge too far against the best team in the competition. The spanish will play keep ball and break through at some stage. 1/5 is a bit short, but its live on sky, tops up my treble to around 5/4 from 5/6 so im happy to take it.
