ODMs Premiership campaign 2010/2011
Or, more accurately, a couple of posts until I get bored.
First bet of the campaign is rash, bold and possibly even stupid but fortune favours the stupid so I should be alright. 50pts on Spurs to win the Premiership at 40/1 (widely available at bet365,Paddypower Boylesports and all good record shops). Logic - yes there is some. Spurs are vastly better equipped to start the season well compared to the shite, sorry, the like of Liverpool who are between 11 and 16 to one. No sense it that price to me. Bookies base their prices largely on what the take up is expected to be antepost and we already know there's no shortage of brain dead Liverpool fans willing to back their team to the hilt no matter how shit they are - FACT. I'll be looking to lay back at at least half the 40/1 price at some stage of the season to give me a free bet. Second bet is my obligatory bet on Man United to win the Prem. They are 11/4 with VC bet and also on betfair. Last season they drifted out to over 4/1 before going back in to odds on near the end. 11/4 is a stupid price. 100pts 150pts invested so far. That's my head sorted. My heart will be rooting for Arsenal this year. I've never jumped on the "I hate Chelsea cos they've bought the title" bandwagon but the piss poor perfomance of their overated English players (plus the lower than a rattlesnake's belly general goings on of JT and his hideous family) just makes me not want them to do well after letting the country down so badly. Looking outside the top couple, I used to have a soft spot for Everton, City and Villa and hope that one of these "underdogs" could punch above their weight. Now City have joined the top dog and Villa are just plain fucking boring which leaves me with Everton who I can't really get excited about (much as I've loved Cahill and Arteta to bits over the last few years). All of which pointless ramblings leaves me with Arsenal. Good to watch, shit to back if you have a weak heart as they pass the ball twenty seven times ten yards out from goal at 0-0 with 3 minutes to go. Also, Arsen seems to be leading the smallest bunch of people since Snow White retired and their goals to corner ratio must be somewhere in the region of 1 in 50. The world cup is dead, bring on the real football. |

re: ODMs Premiership campaign 2010/2011
Not sure what the protocol is on invading 'member betting records' threads?
Here goes anyway. I've taken the 40-1 also on the lay back basis but I think I will only have to wait until 6 games have been played. Man city h Stoke a Wigan h West brom a Wolves h Weat ham a 14-16 points by the end of September. piss easy Vin |

I've seen some Champions league bets in recent years on various forums, but no league bets, your talkin bollocks ODM, you're just havin a pop, there's no FACT there. As for your Spurs bet, give it a month you'll be back slating Dawson and blaming him for the loss of your bet. Spurs had a good season last time, they wont finish top 4 this time. Fool. |

I'm using the word "back" it its proper form mate. Not everything revolves around gambling you know, maybe you need some counselling ![]() I'm talking about how they "backed" the fat waiter long, long, long, long after he'd proven that he'd lost the plot and didn't have a fucking clue what he was doing. As for Dawson, he'll have another good season this year but he'll still be dropping the most monumental bollocks because he seems to be just too stupid to learn anything about positioning. Last ditch tackles look good but being in a position so that you don't have to make them is better. Desperate tackles and clinging on to player's shirts when he should be thinking like a footballer is what gets him into trouble. With him in England's back four, it actually does me a favour because I don't even have to pretend to believe they're going to actually win anything (not that I bothered pretending this time around to be honest as I layed the overated tossers all the way )If you think Spurs are going to finish fifth at best, then it's looking like a pretty poor season for Liverpool. Reckon they'll manage sixth? |

As for Spurs, they face a different start to this season, yes they have a good set of fiixtures to start off with but CL qualifiers, players returning from the world cup, not the best defensive unit by a long way and Harry is going to be constantly linked with the England job this season puts me off them this time round. I hope you get you're lay back in for a free bet beforehand, but i'm confident they wont finish top 4. |

Spurs are around 3/1 for a top 4 finish, i'll put my money where my mouth is and offer 6/1 Grim. Just send me the money mate and i'll pay up if they make it at the end of the season.
