Hastily arranged thread as I wanted the first bet on during the cricket. This will be a general place to keep track of bets and forces me to have an explanation as to why rather than a quick bet for the sake of it whilst on my phone.
Start with a 20 point bank and see how it goes: First bet: Aus to beat Pak in the first 20:20 - 1 point at 1.53 Aus are starting to show some form and have a bit more match practice in the conditions. Taits looking good last few matches and I think he will be supported better by Nannes. Concern is that Pak are an unpredictable team as well as Aus having a number of injuries. |

Re: Speedie's sports bets
Disappointing start, especially as Aus were doing well at the start of both innings but never mind.
Current status - profit/loss -1pt won 0/1 - 0% |

Re: Speedie's sports bets
Next two bets are related:
First is Holland to win tomorrow - 1pt at 1.66 Second is for Robben to win man of the match - 1pt at 4.5 I think the Dutch will have to much for Uruguay, particularly as I thought the later were fairly poor against Ghana. Also, whilst Sneijder has been getting the plaudits I think Robben will have played himself back to fitness and may have a good match. |

Re: Speedie's sports bets
Ok, so nice to get my first win of the thread thanks to Holland, however, it's looking like Sneijder has been given man of the match. Not sure on that one, and wishing Robben had put at least one more of his chances away.
Current status - profit/loss -1.34 pt won 1/3 - 33.3% |

Re: Speedie's sports bets
So three bets at once now:
1) Germany to qualify against Spain - 1pt odds 1.90 Germany have played superb so far this tournament and I'm surprised with their pedigree they aren't favourite, plus the Octupus has to get it wrong eventually. 2) Tim Clark to win John Deere Classic .5pts e/w 17.00 Recently got his first win and I think it will be one where the next happens quite quickly. Regularly challenging and should now have more confidence. 3) J B Holmes to win Loch Lomond .5pts e/w 51.00 In form with a 5th place finish, big hitter and American so will be used to Loch Lomond style golf which is more target golf. |

Re: Speedie's sports bets
Just to add I did a bet in play on Wor to beat Leic in the 20:20 cricket, half way through Wor chase.
2pts at 1.36 However looking ropey on the Germany bet with Spain being the better team throughout. Looks like the Octupus knows best. So for bets complete: Current status - profit/loss -1.62 pt won 2/4 - 50% |

Re: Speedie's sports bets
Gearing up for the start of England's ODI against Bangladesh today.
No value in the win market, so have just looked at the top batsmen. Tempted by Ian Bell as he's showing good form, does well against Bangladesh and is at 6.00. However, something tells me we will see a captains innings from Strauss. In early and the Bangladesh bowling attack shouldn't be overly feared. So 1pt at 3.75 for top England batsmen in the first match. |

Re: Speedie's sports bets
A bet in play, Bangladesh to score over 239.5, 1pt at 1.83
Going ok, wickets in hand and although they can collapse I think it's a tad low purely based on Tamin being out early. |
