Quandram vs The World Cup
aka "How I pissed away a couple of months of profit"
Might as well start at the top and move down in an orderly fashion.
I like the look of Holland and I think they will cruise though to the quarter finals. Granted there they might/should find Brazil and life becomes much harder but for some reason I think they'll win. Think i'll get a good run for my money at any rate As for Argentina... no thought, no planning of routes, just belief that somethings in sport follow an utterly different script and deep in my soul I see Maradonna with his hands on the trophy again. It's horrible, I wish it wasn't so but there it is and to deny it would be to deny the existence of spoons.
Pretty simple this. They are all poor, nobody can convince me otherwise. I watched the African Cup of Nations and witnessed nothing that made me believe any of these teams can finish in the top 2 of their groups. Add to this that Mikel is out for Nigeria, Essien for Ghana, Drgoba is a doubt for Ivory Coast and it just gets worse. Cameroon have Eto'o and an open group and I deem them and Nigeria the biggest threat to this but at the odds it's well worth it in my eyes. Ok - so I was sat in the pub with a coupon for the group games and a beer. Went straight down the list marking 1x2. Then looked at what I had compared to odds and below is what I ended up with. There's enough there to give me an interest in every game of the group stages i reckon without really scraping the barrel. Here's hoping that Argentina and Holland can do the business with noble support from the others. Just to record two that I missed out on. France not to qualify interested me when i first spotted the price at 11/4... tragically they then lost to China and the price fell to 2/1... not for me although I certainly wouldn't back them in their current form. The other was RvP to be top Dutch scorer. Was very interested at 9/4 but the Robben got injured and the price fell to 13/8... just a little too short.

South Africa vs Mexico
I utterly refuse to believe that South Africa are a good team but there's a history to host nations and that puts me off backing Mexico outright. Mexico draw no bet feels the safer cource to me. Mexico are a nice attacking team and I think there'll be more chances than the odds here suggest. 3+ goals to get the tournament off to an entertaining start. Uruguay vs France Not a scooby... yet |

Re: Quandram vs The World Cup
Kind of wish i'd left my World Cup punting at this as it'd be looking ok. As it is it's been shocking but the after eventing rules work in my favour here so I don't have to confess how much i've pissed up the wall on match bets (it's mainly been goal markets).
Into the second round. USA vs Ghana... don't rate Ghana, they've been lucky to get here where as the USA were unfortunate not to get here more comfortably than they did. USA 10pts @ 2.5 Argentina vs Mexico... can't back Argentina at that price so am straying into the goal markets again. Neither team can defend worth a damn and with Over 2.5 @ 2.2... i'm having some. 10 pts @ 2.2 Overs Paraguay vs Japan - Liked the way Paraguay played against Slovakia but then really disapointed by them against NZ. Japan have shown some nice moments and have a couple of good free kick merchants. Japan +0.25 @ 2.075 - 8pts Trixie on the above, 3pts per bet, 12 pt total. Of the other games, fancy Holland & Brazil to make it through, might stick them in a double, will see. Wont be touching Spain vs Portugal at this point. England vs Germany... ![]() |

Re: Quandram vs The World Cup
The very best of British to you Quandram.
I like your trixie and agree with what you're saying. Any trixie is a great bet at those odds too, any double's a winner. I've probably just kiss of deathed you but good luck anyway, i'm on USA too. |
