Not as big a bugger as France and Italy

Just waiting for all the Scottish people to come on and say how they have a chance to qualify

Re: Euro 2008 Draw

I just lost power Zonker knowing there was Italy and Ukraine and i thought that was the top seed in Italy there. Absolute nightmare when i seen France were added too.

Group of death and we don't have a slim chance of qualification. I really don't think we could have gotten a much worse group.

England get a cushty draw as ever

Re: Euro 2008 Draw

I'm quite worried that Scotland could really embarrass themselves.

We have a habit of really struggling in the away games to the supposadly weaker sides and Lithuania, Georgia and the Faroes aren't going to be the easiest of games.

Re: Euro 2008 Draw

Scotland need to get themselves seeded higher, it was always going to be difficult. Having said that, it was still pretty harsh Even the three teams ranked below Scotland in their group are tricky. Faroes Islands certainly are no pushovers

England as first seeds, were always going to have it a bit easier

Re: Euro 2008 Draw

Agreed Zonker.

People forget that these sides like the Faroes etc are improving all the time and aren't nearly as bad as many imagine. Their results speak for themselves with Spain and France both struggling away to he Faroes and Lithuania in their last qualification campaign.

Re: Euro 2008 Draw

The problem for Scotland is that they have to finish fourth really, or they could face the possibility of being in the fifth seeds for the World Cup 2010 qualifying. It's a vicious circle, where doing badly gives you harder draws in future, but then to do better you have to win games, which is hard because you're drawn against good teams.

Will be interesting to see what happens, but it'll be September before any games are played anyway

Re: Euro 2008 Draw

Clutching at straws i know but i guess there could be a slight glimmer of hope for us.

Basically your older players, many have come out saying that the WCwill be their last stand for their national sides from France and Italy.

So for France for example this would lead to players such as Zidane, Thuram, Makele all not being in the side as they will be making way for the younger players coming through who may have a lot of potential but will obviusly lack the class of these.

Bah, guess we have the 2010 WC to look forward too
