Sheffield Wednesday secured promotion to the Championship as they overcame 10-man Hartlepool after extra-time.

Jon-Paul McGovern's six-yard strike put the Owls ahead before Eifion Williams equalised with a far post shot.

Jon Daly headed home as Wednesday fell behind but Steve MacLean levelled from the spot after Chris Westwood was red-carded for a foul on Drew Talbot.

Well done to Paul Sturrock......

Treat like a cnut when he was at Southampton

Hope they turn Southampton over....Home and Away.
Cracking match , anyone else watch it ?

Re: Justice ?

I agree Winrew. I'm well chuffed for Luggie and the Wednesday fans. Should be great games against Southampton next season and I am definitely going to work on getting a TDP interview with Paul Sturrock. He won't refuse me.

Re: Justice ?

Sturrocks a good man. He's got a superb record down south and true, he was treated like a right piece of shit by the Southampton chairman. Wish him all the best!

Re: Justice ?

Aye glad for him. As has been said, hope Sheff Wed do the double on the Saints next year. As an old romantic, I think its good that Sheff Wed are on the up. They really were too big to be in the 3rd Division. 40 thousand odd they took to Cardiff apparently...

Re: Justice ?

I agree with the sentiments already expressed but I do feel sorry for poor old Jeff Stelling. Maybe next year.

Re: Justice ?

Maybe Hartlepool should have held onto Neale Cooper a little longer. Seemed very strange that to me...... :think

Re: Justice ?

yeah deffo, they were promoted last year werent they? For a small club like Hartlepool, surely the play offs is good enough isnt it? Thought it strange myself. Must have had an arguement with the Chairman or shagged someone he shouldnt have like...
