Should Be In For A Cracking Finish

Well them results today have really set up the end of the season run in havent they?

Not so long ago i was thinking the title, CL spots and relegation was a forgone conclusion.

West Ham win 3 on bounce, Charlton go on good run and Arsenal slipping up has really opened everything up. Im hoping Man Utd slip up tonight to make it even better.

West Ham im certain will stay up now. EVERYTHINGS going their way now from the goal they got away to Blackburn with it hitting Tevez on the line to todays game where they were absolutely pummelled. Watch the game on MOTD tonight - how they held on i will never know.

All of a sudden Sheff Utd and Wigan in deep trouble. Few weeks back they wouldve thought they had all but sown up survival.

Whos everyones fancies now?

I would go....

Chelsea for title
Arsenal CL spot (Just pipping Bolton)
Wigan and Sheff Utd down with Watford.

Where is that thread West Ham to finish ahead of Watford?
Everyone thought that I'm crazy for saying that West Ham will not go down in Championship.I know still lot to play but it seems that Hammers can survive in Premiership.

At the time you probably were crazy Grga as all was not well within the side but a bit of luck at Blackburn and Arsenal has turned it all around.

Re: Should Be In For A Cracking Finish

Im amazed the Hammers and Charlton are getting themselves in with a real shout of staying up, I really thought they were both down about a month ago, like REALLY thought in the case of West Ham. Thats what 11pts from 15 (Charlton) and 3 wins on the bounce (West Ham) does though.

Im not gona even attempt to predict who goes down now but these games are interesting ones...

West Ham v Sheff U - 14th Apr
Charlton v Sheff U - 21st Apr
West Ham v Wigan - 28th Apr
Sheff U v Wigan - 13th May

Everton for Champions League?

I said West ham were down Grga and i still think they will be but respect to the battle they've shown. Dont they have to play Utd and Chelsea still?

Still Utd's title for me, with Watford Wigan and West Ham going down.

Great result Scottieboy

Cant quite see it but good luck Mrm, i'll say good luck to the Bolton and Spurs too, it would be good to see one of the big four miss out, providing it's not the 'Pool like

Re: Should Be In For A Cracking Finish

Nah I wasnt being serious Kop. A Man Utd v Chelsea FA Cup final and a subsequent 7th place Uefa finish will do me nicely thankya. Weve still got to play Utd and Chelsea as well see. Although we might give Utd a right good rollocking at Goodison. For clarity its only fair to include these games to the roster...

Bolton v Everton 9th Apr
Arsenal v Bolton 14th Apr
Spurs v Arsenal 21st Apr
Bolton v Reading 21st Apr
Pompey v Everton 5th May

Re: Should Be In For A Cracking Finish

I was just going to mention the Arsenal run in, i think they could lose at the Lane against Spurs, they also have tough fixtures at home to Bolton and Chelsea and tough away trips at Newcastle and Portsmouth. That 4th spot is up for the taking still.

Re: Should Be In For A Cracking Finish

Aye, it was a cracking win kop. Thats 3 out of 4 against Utd down here. Tbh if Liverpool keep their current form going, then its hard for me not to see them comfortably make the top 4. Arsenal on the other hand, still need to do some work as their side is one for the future IMO. They SHOULD make it, however Bolton (and poss Everton) will be in their sights. Key games tomorrow for all three of those teams.

Re: Should Be In For A Cracking Finish

Its a case of uppers and downers isnt it really.

You can clearly spy teams that are gathering momentum (Chelsea, Liverpool, Hammers, Charlton) and teams that look like they are going off the boil slightly (Man U, Sheff U, Wigan).

Its far from being Chelsea's title and its anything but a gimmee, but to be honest I would go for them over Man U at the monment. It seems Chelsea's crisis has passed and players are returning to fitness at the right time. Whereas United face Vidic, Neville and Silvestre being injured at this crutial stage.

Oh and Liverpool will romp home with the Champions' League trophy too.

Re: Should Be In For A Cracking Finish

BUMP

Well Arsenal put all the champions league 4th place chat to bed today so thats sorted and no more said about it.

I wasnt best pleased with Reading and Charlton winning coming up the rear there but if we beat Charlton tomorrow well go 5th outright and should be sorted (if Chelsea beat Blackburn in the Cup to make 7th place sweet). If we dont win and Chelsea get knocked out though its gona be balls to the wall for the Europe race

The relegation battle is still hot. Odds are

West Ham 1/5
Charlton 10/11
Sheff Utd 2/1
Fulham 3/1
Wigan 7/2
