Barry Ferguson believes Rangers can go on and progress beyond the last 16 in the Champions League.

"A miracle has happened this time so I don't see why it can't happen again," said the Ibrox skipper after reaching the knockout phase of the tournament.

Sorry but Rangers are just plain fucking awful and if they aren't lucky they will get a top side who i believe will go on to humiliate them in the next round.

How anyone can even have the idea of commenting like this from the Rangers camp after going something like 11 games without a win is beyond me.

Liverpool maybe poor but they were by no means as poor and lacking quality as Rangers are now.

Liverpool had the quality and potential but they just weren't achieving this and i can see where your coming from but i wouldn't compare these two.

To be honest i can see Rangers progressing too.

The last few years in the champions league has brought many shocks....could be a difficult game going to Ibrox!

Agreed Crowie - id offer that myself.

The truth of the matter is i cannot recall a poorer side making this far in the tournament.

There could be arguements for Basle that season they made it but they were a solid outfit of the time spearheaded by the Yakin brothers.

I mean its taking the piss when the Artmedia coach, whose side were bloody awful, are there having digs at Rangers this morning stating they were the worst side in the group.

Its saying something when they have qualified with the lowest points total, along with Bremen, in what i would class now as the weakest group of the lot.

I mean i seem to remember Celtic getting 9 points in their group and still not qualifying and that was with a far far tougher group than this.

Go through their CL results and they were VERY lucky in the end imo.

The two Porto results. How they have come away with 4 points from both of these is beyond me.

Porto pplayed them off the park both home and away yet Rangers, especially away to Porto, managed to scrape a point there.

Artmedia games were far from impressive also with a side there for the taking but Rangers didn't have the finishing prowess to beat them.

Inter games are the only ones they can gain some credit for although in the San Siro bar one chance it was all one way traffic in fairness.

Then at Ibrox on Tuesday it was basically a second string side, albeit a very good one, who if they took it up a notch or two would've rolled this side over.

Call it sour grapes or whatever you want from a Celtic fan, but i like to keep a neutral view on it all when i make a comment and just speak the truth and what i see.
