End Of The Road For Sir Alex?

Well i have giving him the benefit of the doubt thus far. His record speaks for itself with him being one of the most successful managers ever, certainly of my era.

After a poor start to the league they have picked up but after the Keane saga, which in fairness had nothing to do with Sir Alex, we now have them going out of the CL finishing bottom of the group stages and out of Europe completely picking up one victory in the end.

If im honest also i wouldve classed this as one of the easier groups aswell so quite worrying imo.

Team selection has always surprised me. Fletcher being a regular starter, playing Smith a striker in a holdnig midfield role

The more recent one is the inclusion of Ronaldo over Park Ji Sung. Ronaldo is a very overrated player to me. Great on the eye but no end product.

Park Ji Sung has injected some pace and urgency in their attack when i see him also.

It just seems to become a big fall for Sir Alex. When was the last time he won a trophy?

The Glazer family certainly won't be happy i wouldn't imagine.

What do you guys think? He done as much as he can at the club? Time for a new guy with new ideas to come in?

It would be wrong to laugh at such a tragic time for them Kop. Who would have believed that the fall from grace could be so swift and so steep.

We're often told what superb fans they have. It'll be interesting to see how they react to this.

Still, on the bright side, I'm sure they'll manage to scrape a draw against Everton on Sunday and everything will be OK again

I'll shed no tears for Man Utd tonight. At the end of the day they dominated the game of football in the 1990's in England and had a great deal of success. Time moves on and their winning ways are still too recent for me to worry about their plight. Give it a year or three and they will become like Steve Davis and everyones favourite loser. By then I will hate an all dominant Chelsea and be supporting Man Utd.

It's the way of things.

Will be interesting to see how the new owners react as well...Don't they have huge bridging loans that were partly secured with expected CL income? Whoops

Re: End Of The Road For Sir Alex?

To be honest I have just thought about this for a minute or two longer. The richest club in the world comes last in their opening group. You have to say that this is the managers fault. It wasn't even a tough group was it?

Fergie should hang his boots up. Thanks old fella. But like any ropey meat - you're passed your sell by date.

It had everything to do with him. Keane commented that Man U's current crop of players arent talented enough to be there. Sir Alex bought them so it is his fault.

Personal opinion? He's a cunt. On the professional side, he should have gone 4 years ago. The squad now just goes to prove that.

If the reports that Queer-oz has assumed many of Fergie's duties is true, then it shouldnt be carlos that goes. Fergie is ultimately responsible for what happens on the pitch.

It isnt good enough.

They have performed to a sub-standard level

and its allllll his fault.....

Re: End Of The Road For Sir Alex?

Its an honest reflection. Ferguson should have been man enough to retire when he had intended (2002 wasnt it..?). Now he has hung on and dragged down the club he worked hard to build. He has squandered millions for years on players that werent good enough. We hear much of the Manchester United Academy. Where are the new bunch of Mancunian youngsters to replace the Nevilles and Butt, Scholes et al.

There arent any.

Fergie got lucky with an exceptional bunch of lads. He hasnt found adequate replacements for them. Can it be that hard to replace Phil Neville?

He let his ego get the better of him with Beckham affair (not to mention Stam - who's still going strong now.). Like the guy or not, you have to admit that since his departure - things have got worse. Much worse.

He hasnt replaced his 'matchwinners' for me. 89th minute, a goal is needed from a freekick on the edge of the box. Up strides Alan Smith, dont make me laugh..... Fergie used to have 5 players who could win a match or do something spectacular. I dont wanna hear about Darren Fletcher or Christiano Ronaldo - they just arent good enough. Besides Captain Caveman and Horseface, they dont have anyone who can do what is needed at the right time. Yeah they might look ok giving West Brom a good spanking at OT but do they do it when it counts...? No.

Re: End Of The Road For Sir Alex?

@ AFU

Anyone see the interview with Rooney on Sky Sports News?

He looks far from happy and i wouldn't be surprised to see him maybe start looking at a bigger club.

He said something along the lines of "I came to Man Utd to win trophies and it doesn't look like happening does it".

Definately bad times ahead for them.

Well as one of the Red Army that chucked his season ticket back at United this season after being a regular for 20 years and vowing not to go again until the Ginger Gnome has gone (and believe me that's been difficult decision!), you hit the nail on the head Jay.

Since that tosser took over, we've declined into a club in crisis. Forget the playing side which has obviously declined, the infrastructure of the club is fooked. He's pumped £374m of debt into the club to be paid off at £31m a year, there's another £275m to be paid off which is currently deferred but will have to be paid off at more than the other debt (£50m ish) (starting in the next few years I think??), he's made office staff redundant, we've lost our sponsor, he's cutting the wage bill and tonight we have gone out of Europe far earlier than his business plan would have dictated.

His business plan was a disaster waiting to happen. Our board said as much when he first approached Utd and its only the ones that kissed arse when he aggressively took over anyway, that are still in employment at the club.Tonight the beginning of Fat Gnome's end started. The £31m debt payment is more than our annual profit anyway when we do get to the CL Quarters/Semis and when we're winning the PL. How much profit are we going to make after tonight?

To get his business plan back on track, we need massive investment into the team. We simply haven't got the cash anymore because of this greedy-arsed parasite.

Tonight I have two emotions. One, gutted that we're out of Europe. Two, delirious that we have taken one massive step to getting that wanker out of my club. The fat fcuker will be in his US mansion choking on his Twinkie when he hears this result. No-one save the cnut.

Re: End Of The Road For Sir Alex?

Aye it must be a tough one for Man Utd fans like yourself Wayne.

Because of this all happening do you think United could turn into a "selling" club in the future where they will maybe adopt the Ajax approach and try and get the best youngsters and sell them at a very nice profit?

Looking very bleak at the minute.
