Un jour peut-être, qui sait, je porterai le maillot marseillais !" source OM net du moi d'avril ************ in english Djibril Cissé, the French attacker of Liverpool who begins again touching the ball after its terrible wound holds a rubric in the free weekly Sports Free Attitude in which he gives his opinion on the championship of France. He expressed himself about shock between OM and PSG: " This year, duel seems nonetheless a little more uncertain. Paris crosses a difficult pass and does not disembark to Canebière with favours of forecasts. Though it arrives, OM can always count on a public entirely acquired in its reason. Ah! the public of Marseilles! All matchs which I could perform with Auxerre was all so many instants of happiness if, to my big regret, I have never been able to mark on this lawn. I always accepted a warm-hearted acceuil there. It is very rare for an adversary. But the supporters of Marseilles all know my origins (I am born in Arles in Bouches-du-Rhône) and the passion which me amine for this club which rocked my childhood. Re: Karl-Heinz Rumour Mill
Well Villa,s got Baros
...That should cheer the brumies up.Newcastle look to have missed out on Deportivo La Coruna's Albert Luque after the Spanish club rejected their final bid for the striker. The Magpies are believed to have agreed terms with the 27-year-old, who was said to be keen on such a move. But Souness said: "I understand that our final offer was rejected, so I think this one's finished. "We have made a fantastic offer for the player. Really there is a limit on how much you can spend on one player." Lyon are poised to sign Chelsea's Portuguese midfield man Tiago for £6m on a five-year contract. The move for the 25-year-old is now close to being concluded by Lyon boss Gerard Houllier, BBC Sport understands. Tiago is believed to have travelled to Lyon on Tuesday with his agent Jorge Mendes to finalise negotiations. |

Re: Karl-Heinz Rumour Mill
One in particular that would excite me is the Spurs bid for Lee. He is an awesome player and played a big part in PSV's run last season. Does the job at the back well aswell as well as being a great attacking option too. |

Re: Karl-Heinz Rumour Mill
Baros will score the goals for you Swoop's/Cowley. He deserved more of a chance at Liverpool but was always behind Owen/Heskey in the pecking order. Let him know he's the most loved striker in the club and he'll bang em in
Look at the the goals ratio for country 1st team games: 108 1st team goals: 27 International caps: 36 International goals: 22

Re: Karl-Heinz Rumour Mill
Well......
I dont know whether to take it at face value that the Toon are genuinely in for owen, or to see it as a cynical attempt (yes another one...) by Shepherd to win favour with the fans. I think the Fat Controller is happy to let people believe they are still playing with the big boys, but also Madrid are happy to see the price rise from £10 mil last week - to £15mil plus today. Owen will go to Liverpool if they want him. But Benitez is reluctant to buy back Owen for twice what they sold him for. I think he would rather keep his money in his pocket... He obviously doesnt rate him, then again - after the last 2 games - how does he rate his current strike force? Benitez bemoans the fact that he has 4/5 strikers already and doesnt need another one. Morientes and Cisse are mis-firing and Pongolle and Mellor are still unproven at the highest level and Le Tallec has been loaned out for the season.... They are very much in the hunt for a striker, Owen would have bagged 4 in the last 2 games.... On another point.....Only madrid could relegate a player to 5th choice, play him in 50% of the games and still get twice what they paid for him!!!!! |

Re: Karl-Heinz Rumour Mill
As I said a wee while ago AFU, I do think Newcastle are gen this time in trying to buy him (unlike the Rooney "bids"). Its now whether Owen wants to play (permanently) at Newcastle.
Wonder if this will spark of any interest from the likes of Arsenal or Chelsea. Benitez seems determined not to move for him, maybe he's playing a game of chicken with Madrid to see who blinks first. |

Re: Karl-Heinz Rumour Mill
About Owen. He is exactly what Newcastle need in a goalscorer. They would really start going places if they got him in although as a fan i wouldn't be too happy to hear a player saying "If Liverpool don't want me then i will go to Newcastle on loan". The loan obviously meaning he really isn't interested in Newcastle and is just using them as a way of getting first team football so he is ready for the World Cup then after that he will be in shop window and move on to a bigger club. |

Re: Karl-Heinz Rumour Mill
Some breaking news on Sky Sports News is that of Liverpool declaring their interest in Bolton's Stelios.
Be interesting to see if he is named in the side tonight for the Newcastle game. Anyone else feeling Benetiz is getting a lot of average players in and not getting world class ones? |

Re: Karl-Heinz Rumour Mill
Kiko - yes very much so. But then again (in theory), anyone can buy a world class player - but it takes a good manager to turn an average player into a class player. I dont think Benitez has a lack of ambition or even bad judgement - maybe he just cant attract decent players to the club. Seems like he is saving is wedge for the players he really wants.....

Re: Karl-Heinz Rumour Mill
Crowie - I dont think he will sign for the Toon permanently. He would be playing for a poor side with little or no overseas profile and a poor history really. So, a bad side - going no where - that will result in a lowering of his global image. Cant see his sponsors being too pleased with that.

Re: Karl-Heinz Rumour Mill
I think he is putting all his eggs in the Liverpool basket AFU but as I said, it looks like Benitez is playing hard ball, knowing he is in a strong position. Comments on BBC say that Liverpool would only be interested if they could pay what they got for him and he took a wage cut. In the end if Liverpool stand firm and Newcastle refuse to take him on loan Owen is facing 6 months of pretty much non activity.
