Just watched the lad Sprott knock him clean out , it was a beauty as well.

Where next for Audley , surely he cant resurrect his career again ,can he ?

Re: The End ?

Ah shit, I knew I was forgetting something...having a bet on Sprott was what it was. Sodding big odds too

Doh...after eventing aside, Audley did seem to be getting back to his complacent ways after the Williams fight. Strutting about like he was a world title contender just because he beat a pretty old and poorly conditioned fighter at the 2nd attempt.

His attitude was poor in defeat and in victory...all just empty words and never any apparent desire to really knuckle down and take advantage over the ability he did have.

The problem he has now is that after he lost to Williams and Guinn he could come out and say how he was going to change his attitude and get himself together, and that claim gained a little credibility when he beat Williams. Now its been exposed again and if he comes out and says it again no one will believe him, the papers won't give him too many column inches, and fans wont turn out to watch his next fight, no matter how much he claims he is now the real deal.

Goodbye Fraudley

Re: The End ?

forgot it was on tell the truth, Harrison has had the last 6 or 7 yrs to prove himself but never seems to get out of first gear, probably the reason he stayed an amateur for so long as he's to cumbersome to go a telling distance against anybody of note.

After his last fight he regained the chance to put a few peoples opinions wrong but he's blew it. Looks like after tonights result he's washed out.

By all accounts the best boxing for a long time and I've missed most of it.

Same here. I logged on to Betfair with about 5 minutes to go and was so close to sticking £50 on Sprott on the basis that Harrison has always had the ability but has never shown the heart. I knew Sprott would make him work for it like Williams did in their first fight and felt the value was good. I'm pissed off on principle that I talked myself out of it. Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I even came on here before the fight to see if Tom, Dave or Burt had posted anything on it. I even visited 'elsewhere' but there were no threads on the bloody fight so I opted out.

The thing is that the heavyweight division is so poor at the moment that even Harrison could still get a few more pay days. Sad but true.

Unfortunately you might be right on that one Gett1n

Generally around 7/2-4/1 I think Mahatma, although I think I saw 5/1 mentioned in a couple of forums...I think the betfair price might have touched around that.

Re: The End ?

6.10 - 6.20 on Betfair just before the whole thing started. I thought the price was value but I just lacked courage in my hunch.

Re: The End ?

I don't know if the guy is thick or is just getting bad advice. First round he keeps Sprott at distance and puts him down, rounds 2 and 3 he lets Sprott come inside and he gets KO'd. Mind you is was a great shot and I doubt any British heavyweights would have stood it. He will carry on I have no doubt about that as GETT1N says the British Heavyweight division is probably as poor as it ever has been and he will probably get a final hurrah against the Skelton - Sprott winner. Fact is it will be a long time before we have a serious challenger for a world title. The Earl and Katsidis fight was awesome, 5 rounds of pure guts and effort, as Barry McGuigan said you will be hard to find a better fight this year. Khan also looked the business against the French champion, took him out in less than a minute and the guy was no mug having only been beaten twice before, I still think he will go for a world title before the end of the year he is progressing that fast. I never posted anything up on the Harrison fight earlier because he is too unpredictable, you just don't know which Harrison is going to turn up for the fight. He is a fool because he has all the tools to a least be the best in Europe, just not the brain to go with them.

Contrast him to Khan who has a wonderful boxing brain. Khan saw that his opponent dropped his left hand every time he tried to throw a straight right and he picked him off with an overhand right within a minute. That's a boxing brain. Harrison is good on the offence against a static opponent (and when Harrison isn't in his shell) but he's useless in the tactics department.

I feel sorry for the guy. It must be horrible to live a lie that you know you have told all along.

Re: The End ?

Harrison was proper spark-o'd wasnt he. lovely jubbily. He was insisting that his career isnt over etc etc and that he can still make a come back. Bollocks.

As for the Earl fight - what an absolute cracker. Showed some bollocks after being knocked down that many times. Its a shame the 'big guns' cant show that much heart and desire to win. If the current crop of heavyweights had half the balls he does - we'd see more decent fights.

Re: The End ?

I liked it when Harrison said "The ref thought I couldn't continue but I thought I was ok"

He was sparked for about 5 minutes.
