Nah Komp, I think he was a scaffolder once. Hahahaha. Ffs, I can't cover for Tommo any longer.

Sorry. I like Pearce. Put a bit of fear into the players maybe and get some passion out of them. I always think of Basil Boli headbutting him when I hear his name btw. Cracker that was.

No he had about 6 months managing Forest when Frank Clark left us. He had a hell of a task as the side was poor and we were being made into a PLC at the time (which unsettled everyone at the club). We got relegated but no one blamed Pearce - in fact he improved the side a little to be honest.

I'm made up for the guy. He's one of life 100%'ers and Nottingham Forest fans will always love him to bits.

Re: Pearce @ City

It was inevitable really , even without the results he managed to get the media love him as do the supporters.

It's well known that city had someone lined up and it's a brave decision to give it to a rookie. He cost us points at Charlton cos he didn't bring any subs on in injury time to run down the clock and break up play. That shows he inexperience , he needs a wise head as assistant but rumour has it that he wants Nigel Clough as his number 2 . He's not popular since his useless stint with us ( I shared a sauna with him ).
The chairman had no choice really and he wont cost us anything and he knows the players and they play for him. Roll on sunday , the first time in living memory that we have had something to play for on the last day in the top division

I am sure there is more to that story....

I read a bit about Pearce a few weeks ago. He admits there is a massive difference between him now and when he had the 6 months in charge of Forest. He said the Forest thing was a total shock but he couldn't turn it down. One of his best stories was that on the Saturday he was kicking the opposition winger into the stand and on the Monday he was trying to pick a team for the following weekend. His head was a bag of baws and he was sitting thinking about this formation, that formation, this player, that player. After much deliberation he came up with his first team and formation only for his wife to wander across, look at his scribbled team sheet and say to him "So, playing without a goalie then, adventerous!" He had got so caught up in it all he had picked 11 outfield players.

He said that 6 months was a struggle as he just wasn't ready for it. However he has been away working in the background for a while now, taking his badges, learning. He says it may surprise people now who have this image of him as being some off the cuff nutter but he is one of the most meticulous people there is now when it comes to management styles. He looks at everything down to the finest details. He seems to, well in the short term at least, have the players playing for him. Good luck to him, if the players can play with half the enthusiasm he had then City fans will get a team who won't be found wanting for effort anyway. And look where a Everton side, who I don't think are much different from City, have got to with good effort and organisation this season.

Btw, one thing I am kicking myself about. R Post last Saturday mentioned Bet365 had a "Who will finish 7th market". The front two were Boro and Spurs, they advised Man City.....at 25/1!!

Come on Keem, if it wasnt for Pearce in the first place we wouldnt be in the lead with a few minutes to go whilst playing the best football ive seen for 2 years with City. Obviously he is going to be prone to showing his inexperience from time to time but its a very small price to pay for the results weve had. Be a little more optimistic!

Well pleased he's got the job, a 4-3-1 record with the team City have, and without SWP for 4 games, absolutely fantastic.

Dont think we will get in europe though, mclaren will hold out for a 0-0 draw

Re: Pearce @ City

I thought it strange that the appointment was made prior to the game against Boro. Maybe the players would have been even more committed if they thought Pearces job rode on the result?

Having said that, I dont think Boro are that great to be honest. Man City could get a result there.
