£35M to spend, who would you buy?
Who would you buy to strengthen your team this season? £35M to spend, would you go for just one player? Or spread it over two, three or even four players?
For me, at Liverpool i'd try and get Xabi Alonso back, we've missed him, they say you should'nt go back but i think he'd be the ideal partner to help bring Henderson on while really strengthening our midfield. Failing Xabi i'd be cheeky and offer £35M for Kaka, doubt we'd get him for that though. So the £35M, the only two players you couldn't afford with that were Messi, Tevez and Ronaldo, who would you go far? Why? |

Well if I were Liverpool, I'd see if anyone was stupid enough to give me £10million for Andy Caroll and then buy two players for £45 Million

Re: £35M to spend, who would you buy?
It's not really a question that interests me to be honest mate. I could replace my entire shit team for not much more than £35 million.
I could always put myself in the position of, say, United or Arsenal but in Arsenal's case, it would depend on who's going as to who I would spend the money on. You need to know if you're buying a player to play with Fabregas or whether he'll be fucked off by the time the season starts. In addition to that, I don't watch much European football (outside the Champs League) so I wouldn't know who the up and coming talent is. Tell you what I do think though, if I were anyone outside the big four, Id be interested in how much Diego Forlan could be purchased for. The big guns are not going to be looking at him I know, and the smaller clubs probably can't afford him (no idea how much he would fetch at this stage of his career) but his attitude has always been excellent, even when things were not going well at United and he knows what English football is like. |

Re: £35M to spend, who would you buy?
Hmm 35 million well we have spent more than that this season but id go for
Modric @ 25-30 Million Creative player always does the job, we need a creative player someone who can spark us alive like Ronaldo did. I think Young will do a good job doing that as well but Modric as well top price 30 million Kasper Schmeichel 2mill - Back up to De Gea could push him quite well as well, ive been impressed with Kasper Schmeichel when ever ive seenn him play, Could easily do a job at a big club Matt Tubbs 1.5 Mill - He can play for a higher side wouldnt mind him on the bench instead of Owen doesnt get injured, clinical striker good scoring record, whether he could do it at United but the price is cheap and worth the chance |

Fair point and i would want to do the same at Hereford ThunderCelt. Oh for a new ground.
Forlan would be interesting back here for somebody for sure, £7-12M these days? He's probably good for bit/part games for the big four still too though. |

I see Leeds wanted rid of Schmeichel, Yorkie. £1M to Leicester, I think he's suspect but back up at OT wouldn't be a bad idea for him, to mature.

Re: £35M to spend, who would you buy?
I don't see Schmeichel as a Premiership keeper at all to be honest. He's a good shot stopper but, all round, he's just not good enough - not commanding enough in the box and some of his decision making is suspect. People seem to think that he's naturally going to improve just because of who his old man is. If it wasn't for his father's name, we wouldn't even be having the conversation about him coming back into the Premiership.
My prediction is that he'll serve out his entire career in the Championship (unless the team he's with get's promoted or relegated) because no Premiership club will buy him. I may be wrong. |

Quote:
..I reckon you could get promoted from league two with 750k to be honest, most of the clubs are garbage and if you have a bit of cash you should sail home..To answer the question, I would have said Rooney two seasons ago but not now, I think Modric is a brilliant and rare player but he has never really played for anyone that decent so you could question him on that side, but I suspect he only needs to be given the chance..other than that prob Xavi or Iniesta. |

Wayne Rooney to Spurs (laughing while im writing this) We all know how good he is,upfront he would totally transform my team,an invalueble player.
If I could bring a player back from the past please. On Modric he wouldnt be fit to tie Ardiles laces to quote our own managers words,Ardiles -twice the player in every department ,and 35m wouldnt by you Ardiles in todays market,no way pedro. |
