Mark Hughes resigns as Fulham manager

Hughes led Fulham to a top 10 place last season Fulham manager Mark Hughes has resigned after less than a year in charge at Craven Cottage.
Hughes has been linked with the vacant job at Aston Villa, although the Midlands club have denied making any contact with the Welshman.
The 47-year-old also denied that he had been approached by another club before he chose to quit.
"As a young, ambitious manager I wish to move on to further my experiences," he said.
"I believe my management team and I have done a good job and the club has a strong foundation from which they can go forward.
"I would also like to take this opportunity to clarify that neither myself nor my representative have approached or have been approached by another club.


Still 2/1 to be next Villa manager if anyone is so inclined

Bayern still not appointed anyone though, no? Looks to be the Villa job so I'm suprised 2/1 is still available, but nobody can say anything until the months notice is up.
Personally he was my first choice last season but Mo'N only left a few weeks after MN had taken the Fulham job.
Just shows how strong a hand you hold by being able to afford to work on a 1 year rolling contract.

2/1 looks cracking price as I can't see him going anywhere else, Bayern maybe as he obviously has contacts or one eye on German football as he snapped up Kompany and De Jong from Hamburg but Villa would be my guess as its an obvious step up from Fulham and I'm pretty sure Hughes still lives in the Northwest so it would be nearer to home too.

I`ll ask the head scout Tony Fitzgerald if he`s heard out when I see him next (im his postie!)... Thats if he`s still talking to me. He`s not happy we stayed up, coz we aint lost at Villa in about 10 visits
