AC Milan's Gennaro Gattuso has been banned for four matches after clashing with Tottenham assistant coach Joe Jordan during a Champions League tie.
Midfielder Gattuso headbutted Jordan following his side's 1-0 defeat in the first leg of their last-16 encounter at the San Siro and has since apologised.
European football's governing body Uefa handed down the punishment after a disciplinary hearing on Monday.
But Milan have said that they will not be appealing against the decision.
The 33-year-old former Rangers star had already been ruled out of the second leg at White Hart Lane on 9 March after picking up a booking in the first match.
The veteran Italian headbutted Jordan as tempers flared at full-time in Milan 1-0 Champions League .



I have mixed feelings on this to be honest. On the one hand, I think the ban is far too short. If you want to set an example and stamp out players acting like cunts and believing themselves to be above the law, then hammer the bastards. A minimum of six games I would have said.

On the other hand, I can't believe some of the things that have come out of the mouths of some of the ex pro's in the last week, starting with Graham (I've always been an angel) Souness. I know he was sticking up for a bloke who he knows in Joe Jordan but to say that he's a talentless player and no more than a thug is total bollocks. Every team needs an enforcer (Souness should know that) and Gatuso has been one of the best.

I was looking on the internet for Souness' quotes but gave up when I came across this comical version below. How the fuck you can take something that was said in English, presumably translate it to a second language and then translate it back and finish up with this bollocks is totally beyond me

He was one of the best , but that was a while ago , as for four matches , seems a bit lenient to me.
