OK, maybe he's OK at lower or non-league level but do we really think he'd get a job in the Championship if old red nose wasn't his dad? No fucking way. He left Peterborough "by mutual consent" - yeah, right - leaving them at the bottom of the table and for some strange reason Preston chose to pick him to manage their team and unless they come to their senses and sack him, he's going to lead them into League one at worst and, at best, their worst position since they got promoted to the Championship.

If the stats I've read are correct, this is his 45th game in charge of Preston tonight against Hull and, assuming they lose -as they are doing - they will have picked up 45 points. I'm not sure how many of the Preston board of directors possess calculators but they should be made aware that this is relegation form.

Even without a calculator, a glance at the league table shows them as bottom (well, joint bottom but they should be bottom by this time tomorrow evening).

Peterborough = bottom of the Championship, Preston = bottom of the Championship (and this, a team who've played in more play off games than any other.

Am I the only one seeing a pattern forming here?

You make a fair point about Preston onedunme, although with their budget I have felt they have been punching above their weight for a while now, don't think it was fair at all the way he was sacked by Peterborough, when he took them over they were struggling in league two with something like 8 straight defeats if I remember correctly, he sorted them out and led them to 10th and then 2nd and promotion in his first full season of management, then repeated the trick the following season in finishing 2nd in a highly competitive league one, surely he deserved a little bit more time than november when he was sacked!? I thought it was laughable at the time and I havent changed my mind..

Fair play he's doing crap at Preston, but as I said I think they have been performing above their station for a few years and the club is in a poor financial situation and has had to get rid of some of the squad..no-one wants to be bottom of the league but someone has to be..I wouldn't write him off yet but if anything he shouldn't have taken the job with a club that is in decline, should have taken a job with a league one side to get a bit more experience, and Preston should prob have appointed a more experienced man.
